Which do you guys prefer? I like the looks of both and plan on using them this year without any mods other than maybe a aider on the bottom step. I like the fact that the xop will lock together.

XOP hands down for me. It’s a budget Lone Wolf with a better locking system. Hawks are cheaply made by comparison IMO but you’ll get a lot of love for them on here.

I’ve used both and liked both.

If you don’t plan on cutting them down and you don’t mind a single step then the XOP is a great stick. That locking system is pretty smooth cause you don’t need a strap to keep them together. XOPs stack better than Heliums as well.

The advantage for Heliums is they are a little lighter and they have double steps. I’d venture to say they are easier to sell if you don’t like them also.

I considered both. Having double steps was the reason I went with the Hawks.

I currently use both sticks. I prefer the xop. They don’t kick out, more foot room, and are a bit longer for going higher. I use mine with a daisy chain amsteel. When using with stock buckles they really lock into a tree. The hawks are ok but will kick out some and don’t seem to bite as well on some cypress and live oak trees I hunt in. The double step is nice on Twitter hawks but not necessity. Just my two cents.

Yep I just ordered me a set $149 with free shipping. I can see where the double step on top would be nice. I’m new to this saddle hunting and can’t wait to get all my stuff in. I’ve used a climber all my life and always been limited to what tree I can climb so I think I’m going to really like it. Plus it being more easier to pack in will a added benefit in the area I live in.
