Did some practicing today.

purchased 3 WE steps and a perch. Practiced with it today not giving up on it yet but really was not stable. The perch moved side to side a lot in the step. Felt liked things moved more than it should each time I set it up. Hopefully I can figure it out or maybe come up with a way to make solid. With a weight rating of 400# and being a bigger guy I like that but moved way to much for my liking.

The XOP climbing sticks worked well happy with those. I can see how the double step is better than a single step. Not that it was a huge deal but can see the benefits.

Other thing I can see being a huge benefit is a ropeman 1. Getting a prusik knot to tighten up was not the easiest....lol.

Gonna head to YouTube watch some videos on few things.

If you wrap the step that you use for the perch with vet tape it won't move anymore. Cheap and quick fix. Make sure your camming that step over with the perch already installed. What I do is put the step on the tree, insert the perch, uncam and retighten, recam the step. Sometimes I'll do it again getting every ounce of slack out of the knot as possible. Seems like a lot but it's quick and easy. I've done that with brand new steps and unstretched ropes and it worked fine

Thanks for the feedback I was thinking of wrapping but wasn’t sure. I will definitely give that a try.
