MANTIS...... WHATS UP TETHRDNATION

I would like to believe that they are spending all of their available time catching up on orders and keeping their customers informed. However, that doesn't seem to be the case. They seem to have plenty of time to continue marketing though as they have put up several success stories and "promotional" Facebook posts in the last few days. It looks real bad and their waiting customers are getting more pissed each day.

Current customers should come before anything else at this point in the game....period. All available time and resources should be spent on customer satisfaction. They have a long way to go in making it right in the minds of many customers. Unfortunately, a lot of damage has been done that will hurt them in the long run. I just hope they can weather the storm because they have some nice products.

And for what it's worth, I don't have a dog in the fight. I haven't ordered anything from Tethrd directly so I'm not an irate customer who's waiting. Basically, just an outsider's observations.
I agree that catching up is priority one - the question is what they can do to make that happen. It's not like Greg and Ernie can just sit down and sew saddles - that wouldn't be the product we signed up for and isn't a realistic expectation. And the situation with their manufacturing partners and materials availability isn't fully known, but it's probably not quite where they can just demand to ship more saddles. There is probably some combination of broken promises, bad luck, entrepreneurial risks and optimism, etc. Maybe they made some bad decisions or could have done things to speed up delivery...months ago. Or maybe not. But communication and updates are critical at this point.

It’s all about what what the manufacturer(s) can produce. One of the things when they started this company was that saddle hunters would not have to wait on orders. Well to do that you have to have enough $$$ up front. Ie order 1000 of each size. Evidently that was not done. You have to get out ahead of your orders and guarantee the manufacturer. Remember the the manufacturer is a creditor. They too like us are front the risk. Greg and Ernie have the ability to turn this around with more monies of their own or company monies. Time will tell.

For being cool. But it could also be that I shared their posts on Facebook when they said it could mean winning some swag.

Jamieross14 - you are exactly right - why can't they do that at this point? The way this process is going just doesn't add up - this goes way beyond problems caused from just being a new company....

For sure, Last email I got (October 3rd) said they would be caught up on all orders on a couple weeks. I would hope we atleast get another update monday or Tuesday.

I want what I ordered not another update. I buy a bunch of hunting and fishing equipment online. You order and when your order ships they bill your credit card. I ordered my saddle over 10 weeks ago and my credit card was charged that day. I’m trying to be patient but it gets harder each day I have to wait. I like these guys and hope things work out but I think they went about this the wrong way.

I see a first person to kill from the Mantis, Am I the first person to hit and lose a deer from the Mantis? This was Sunday the 7th. It was down at 30 yards for 30-40 mins. Walked up to it and it got up and bolted onto private land. Also, I completely missed one last night, is that another one for the record books?

Unfortunately, I had my first saddle hunt, first bow hunt, and first wound loss of my life on September 8th.

The difference here is that it was a preorder. They were open about the fact that they were preselling the products in order to bankroll the design/manufacture process. Delays happen. It's a risk we take when we preorder new gear, especially from a fledgling business. If I didn't want to wait for something I had already paid for, I would not preorder.

I’m good with waiting, did not know at time I ordered it was a pre-order probably my fault but I don’t remember seeing anything that said that. Even at that 11 weeks seems a bit long to wait for something. I’m just kind of watching hunting season here slip away, our bow season ended today. Just venting I guess.

I pre ordered some gear for my business. Not critical to my operation but some gear that will be a nice improvement to my current gear. I paid the money and expect to wait almost one year for it.

bigjoe- I agree I don't like having to air this kind of stuff on a forum I come to so I can learn and enjoy...but....this is THE saddle forum and our only way to 'talk' to other saddle hunters....This tethrd situation is a big problem in the saddle community and we need to be able to talk about it amongst ourselves and share whats going on because tethrd is not doing that adequately.....

I look forward to the day this is behind us - but I don't think I will feel good about tethrd for a long, long time....

Me too and I don’t have a dog in the fight, damn.

Cut these guys some slack. What they’re doing is overwhelming, I’m sure, but they’ll get it worked out and then all will be well. I doubt seriously if all the complaining via phone calls and emails is helping anything, in fact, I’m positive it ain’t helping. They’re not making these things in their garage and they aren’t getting all their raw materials from one place either. A lot of coordination has to take place for them to get ahead of the game. Are their suppliers used to the sudden increase in volume of their product? Are ALL of them able to handle it? Because it will only take one that isn’t to shut the whole thing down until they can catch up.

Heck, I didn’t even order anything from them. I ordered a Kestrel and when I did I knew it would be 6 weeks. Then they sent me an email saying it was going to be 6 weeks. Did raise hell? No, I asked them if everyone and everything came through the fires ok and hit send knowing it would get here when it gets here.

All this is like a pregnancy, months of misery and complaints then the baby shows up and all is well and forgotten. Sit back, crack open a cold one and wait on the baby.
