Lone Wolf Custom Gear

As a new saddle hunter who just ordered my first saddle platform what am I missing here guys? The LWCG platform stand is like twice the price as the Predator and 2lbs heavier? That can’t be right?

Some guys like the extra room. I used to have an assassin and sold it and have regretted that since. I'm definitely getting the LWCG platform because it's as close as I can get to an assassin but not pay 500-700 bucks for one. I think it looks like a great platform and lots of people on here who are raving about the price will buy one too. I guarantee it. People complained about the price of the predator and beast sticks too at first and now you mostly hear only good things about them. This will be no different.

So I feel a little dumb asking this, but I've watched every video and I'm missing something. How do those sticks stay together?

They connect by some sort of rubber/plastic pop in fastener located on the outside top and bottom of each stick and the holes in the platforms are meant to receive the fasteners as well

Is there a male side that connects to a female side, or can any side connect to any side?

Ha...lots of truth there.

As someone who hunts with just about every method the stand and sticks look like a game changer to me. Everyone is complaining about price but the way the stand and sticks pack while being lightweight blows away the competition. I hope the design works as well as it shows. High quality, lightweight, portable stuff sells and I think they know their market very well. The platform looks really nice, I think it will do okay. I’ve often wanted a larger, stronger platform than the predator but that being said I can’t see myself grabbing it over my predator if I’m going far. I’m interested in seeing more on the saddle but my guess is it’s not gonna compare to some of the options we already have. Who knows might surprise us.

I thought how the sticks stacked on the stand is a great idea
but I don't think the material and the way they lock will last
I bet in the short future this design will wear and the sticks will start falling out

IMO this is going to bite them
love the concept, but my experience in mechanical design this is going to be a wear item
I've seen this type of mating of components not last in the long run, and since we put our gear to the extremes
I don't think they've had enough time in the field, rushing to get this product to market

Anyone who has seen this directly make a comment of this mating of sticks to stand look like it will last

Don't look back, you're not paying for a name :) you don't need the extra size. They are tree stand guys(which a 7.5lb treestand is awesome) they don't do what we do.

I have no experience hunting from lock on stands, but how do those guys use a single platform as a tree stand without a saddle or seat?

Looks like they are coming out with a "saddle". From the video it's just a giant padded belt with a metal ring on the front to hook into.... Not my cup of tee

Not sure I understand what your saying but I don’t think they “lock “
together
I think the way the sticks mount to the stand is just for nesting them together.
You will need to wrap a strap around the stand and sticks to secure them.

I thought this was designed to not have that strap
if it's only nesting we'll see how they will last, rubber grommets wear
watching Garrett's video Andrea mentioned some of the stuff not enough time has taken place in the field

The stand platform was really noisy when he drug the bungee on that backpack across it. Like metal wind chimes loud. The saddle platform will sell at that price point but not like it would closer to the 200 dollar price point.

The stand holds them tight and they are tight with one another. No straps required they said.

That may be the case and that would be very simple to work with . But yesterday when I place them together at the show they didn’t seem to lock that tight. I would think you will need a strap to secure them. Again I’m not 100% sure on that.

I think savvy folks could put rubber grommets on Helium sticks that would lock in pretty nicely into that stand and not have to use the single step. The only real bulk difference would be the offsets.
