EZV SIGHT

Give it time and it is amazing how your brain will know the correct sight picture. I love keeping all my attention down range on the spot I want to hit.

I was curious about EZ V after reading the threads on Saddlehunter and got to actually look at some during saddle palooza. This morning while checking out EBay I discovered a EZ V in open package but labeled new for buy it now $85. What the heck? I will be shooting an EZ V sight next week now.

Great deal! I found one similar for $70. Might be the older version, which has the level bubble behind it, but that doesn't bother me. I haven't shot with it yet but excited to!

you guys / gals that have this - are you shooting with one eye open or both and did that change going to EZV? I'm right handed, but left eye dominant and my right eyesight is considerably worse than the left anyway. I wear bifocal contacts and basically have to decide with the optometrist if I want crisper distance or reading vision. I always go with distance so things up close are always blurry. Wondering if this sight would shoot better with both eyes open than my Trophy Ridge React

Example: You're set up between 20-25' height and deer is 10-15 yards from tree. Normally, I would use my 10 yards and under point blank pin for this shot.

I don't have any experience with this site yet, but DIY Sportsman did a YouTube review of it and it covers your question very well. I'd give it a watch.

I can't shoot with both eyes open, been trying to train myself for a couple of years now. The EZV did not change that.

In my experience (firearms instructor for Navy) DHS since'95), if you're cross eye dominant and you shoot with both eyes open, your dominant eye will take over causing you to miss. I'm older, so my vision is getting worse. My dominant eye is worse than my non dominant. When I shoot pistols at distance, I wear my reading glasses to focus on my front sight (or pins on my bow). Contacts are a different story, cause you can't just put them on at the last minute. Shooting fundamentals should be the same, crisp front sight/pin, blurry rear (peep) and blurry Target. Just my opinion, but maybe eye glasses to hunt with (distance I'm using bino s anyway). Good luck. Oh yeah, probably gonna give the EZV a try this year, just for quicker Target ranging!!

I've got a stigmatism, so the EZV makes sense for me to switch to and so far I think I like it. For any kind of distance or accuracy shooting, I've never shot with both eyes open. I have been trying to shoot with both eyes open since switching to the EZV but I'm right handed and right eye dominant anyway so I can't really give an opinion on being cross eye dominant...

Good info. When bow hunting I have always done the opposite. Float a blurred pin on the target I’m focused on (one eye open). I’ve never had any formal shooting training on anything so it’s just how I came to doing it over time. I’m thinking the open sight / no pin on an EZV will let me focus on the target better but that’s an assumption based on what I have read and holding Jess’s EZV briefly at SaddlePalooza. Cross eye dominant AND cross eye stronger vision is an awesome combo in shooting LOL

Good info. When bow hunting I have always done the opposite. Float a blurred pin on the target I’m focused on (one eye open). I’ve never had any formal shooting training on anything so it’s just how I came to doing it over time. I’m thinking the open sight / no pin on an EZV will let me focus on the target better but that’s an assumption based on what I have read and holding Jess’s EZV briefly at SaddlePalooza. Cross eye dominant AND cross eye stronger vision is an awesome combo in shooting LOL

I agree glasses suck. I was in the chair to get lasik about 10 years ago but they could only do the left eye because my right eye was not bad enough. I got to thinking while I was waiting and I asked the guy who was prepping me if that would make me left eye dominant. He got the surgeon who told me that was a good possibility. I bailed out. I didn’t want to have to re-teach myself how to shoot everything.

I shoot traditional but I have been reading about this sight and it is very interesting and seems like a doable shooting platform especially for hunting. There have been a couple sight systems come about for recurves in the recent past that are similar in nature. When you close your non dominant eye you loose depth perception and the ability to judge distance so a sight that allows you to use both eyes could be beneficial.

Would anyone that has the practice paper target be able to give me some dimensions? Possibly the size of the circles on each side and the distance between the center of each circle? I bought mine used so it didn't come with any. I don't feel like paying the $10 plus shipping from the site if I can just replicate them on my own with a little help. Thanks

Just draw a 16" diameter circle with tick marks at 9 and 3 o'clock.
