Haha, he is over the top but here in TX, that's how they are, lol. The actual website has good info also.Yeah, I just watched some dude called “Ranch Fairy” explain the quartering shot perfectly. His first video he was getting on my nerves a bit, the second one he was off the meth and his message sank in.
But those tic marks correspond to distances, do they not? What are you doing to get the distance for an object that is not “deer vital” sized?
I'm really hoping to shoot @kyler1945's ezv at some point. I like the concept of ditching pins and "just shooting the deer." But I don't know that I see an advantage over a fixed single pin.
I don't range critters. They're either out of range or close enough to put the pin on and shoot. I find it pretty intuitive to "little high, little low" the pin on them to get a good result. Works regardless of climbing height, size of deer, or shot angle.
I kind of think it's a solution looking for a problem. Guys like "features" and new tech, and to be different than the rest of the pack. Marketers capitalize on that.
It reminds me a gosh-awful lot of a pendulum sight. Cool idea, but it comes with its own problems.

Excuse my ignorance, but how does this whole "shooting spots" thing work when your reference for distance, a deer's vitals, isn't in the picture? are you doing this at known distances and using the notches that you know work for that distance?
While you folks that are knowledgeable with this site are pondering a response, how about adding in exactly what reference on the deer, beyond "the vitals", when you shoot. Is it "chest and elbow" or what? I need to know these things, lol.
More convinced everydayI shoot spots at known distance using the tick marks. Mainly just wanted to see if I could still hit small target using the tick marks.
For framing a deer in the V, you use the front of the shoulder to the rear of the rib cage. As Scoutman said, lots of videos that show demos of how the sight works. The V works for broadside and quartering angles. Once you use the sight for a little while, your subconscious does kind of take over and the sight becomes more instinctive to shoot without thinking. Hard to fully grasp it without shooting one.
Keep us updated. I use my 1st pin out to 30yds so I am interested in how it does at farther distances.I got an EZV sight for valentines from my valentine. Took 6 arrows to sight in. I have only shot it at 20 but I am loving it. Having to shoot different spots not to Robin Hood arrows. Whenever it stops raining, I’ll be stretching the distance a bit
Thinking hard about buying one. Maybe I will hold off a while to see if this happens.I read a post on AT that Aaron said new thinner inserts will be available with different colors at the end of March. Not really worried about the color, but interested in a thinner one.
