Live from the tree!

Awesome. That gives me some hope. I haven't been on my land since the third week of October when I helped a friend get his first bow deer. Between work and family, I just haven't Gotten out there. I know trespassers are bad this year though because I found deer remains in October and I'm missing a couple trail cams from back of property. It's less than 200 yards from back door. Some people just don't want to be courteous

Does anyone make a clamor that shoots rock salt? That might be a good deterrent.

No thanks is about right. The coldest day I ever hunted was 5 degrees and a slight wind. I think the deer could hear my blood icing up and making noise as it travelled through my veins because I never saw or heard anything other than my knees knocking

I was looking at the forecast for this weekend. Sunday morning is -23 with a high temperature of -5. Winds 5 to 10. No thanks lol.

That's a ground blind and Mr. Heater kind of day. I hunted with a guy that I use to hike 3.5miles in with everymorning and when the temps dropped he'd lug that damn thing all the way back every day.

I went out yesterday pm. 30 mph winds 14 F with snow. I thought is this a waste of time. Saw a nice buck walking out. So deer were moving Blizzard today.

The tree was rockin and rolling a bit

I have one more tag good til Dec 31. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've been sick all week but I'm starting to get better. Gotta rest up for the weekends! Hoping to sneak into the entrance to a bedding area really early saturday morning and sit in a tree in a snow storm with my muzzleloader for a while :D

Last Saturday I saw the biggest buck I've ever seen in my life. Only problem was he wasn't in shooting range and he was busy trying to chase if the first buck I had in shooting range all year. Before I could shoot the smaller buck mister big ran him off. Then promptly turned and walked back into private property. I'm debating if I should head back there this weekend or if this was just a one off roaming Buck type situation.

Dec. 26 my season resumes...

Nothing was moving, not even a squirrel. Stayed warm, but my butt missed the saddle. Setting up isn't the problem, but coming down and packing up, my hands get extremely cold as I dont feel safe wearing gloves.

You could always use your saddle at ground level.

Weather is warm here in GA...big surprise.

I'm headed out on a draw hunt tomorrow. The Army post I work on has an "Artillery Impact Area" that is off limits to all people all year long. They do 2 draw hunts per year. The hunts are 1 day only and each hunter is escorted to and from their hunting stand. There are a lot of UXOs (Unexploded Ordinance, aka live bombs) that they don't want Bubba walking up on. Should be interesting.

Yikes. So your deer might run off and explode?? No thanks!

I'm taking my .300 win mag. There's not any real danger of getting hurt. It's just the military takes ridiculous, to the point of annoying, precautions.

Somebody probably got blown up once. That is the way our society works, one thing happens (usually when someone is doing something stupid) and we write laws attempting to stop that one thing from ever happening again. It keeps the lawyers in business.

Was out today after a snow squall. Temp was 9 degrees with a 20mph with wind chill it was -10 lol saw nothing. Really cold lol
