False advertising as anticipated.......
No, not disappointed at all. Always looking for opportunity to improve. Things that eventually turn out to be great ideas usually don’t spring forth on the first thought, but rather a thought that is refined over time. The way I do it certainly wasn’t something that I came up with. Really hard to come up with a really good original idea. Only one I’ve come up with is when you figure 8 your pull down dynaglide, grab both ends instead of just one, figure 8 the two lines at the same time. Cuts the time in half and deploys the same. It’s a small thing, but it helps. So this is the same thing as you’re already doing with the addition of standing on your tether to get the stick 2-3 ft higher. You’re basically inserting 1 2TC move into it. It’s probably not worth the extra effort but nonetheless it is the purpose of this thread lol
So 2x 2TC moves and 2x stick moves for 20ft. Now is everyone disappointed?
I do something similar with my rappel rope as well. You’re right it is fast and original ideas are hard to come by. I fold it in half and grab both ends and do my normal wrap but it’s doubled. It packs it up very quickly and if you start with the tags ends you end with a loop that can be clipped to anything very easily. No, not disappointed at all. Always looking for opportunity to improve. I’d like to know how you are getting 20ft currently with a one stick in 3 moves. Thanks.
I figure 8 my rap rope as well and it never tangles. Picked that one up from watching a logger guy on a YouTube video.I do something similar with my rappel rope as well. shouldn't you be in he NBA?Coming to a youtube near you...
I am shooting for 20ft with 2 moves of the one stick, or 22-25ft with three moves. I have done it successfully a few times but I am refining the movements and gear before sharing. Nothing new or earth shattering, just a clumping together of two methods.
More to come.
creative...but you could have just made a 3rd move with your one stick in that amount of time... not trying to put your method down, but it seems like using the foot tether is just an additional 2' move
Well you’re going to be realllll disappointed with my climbing video lolcreative...but you could have just made a 3rd move with your one stick in that amount of time... not trying to put your method down, but it seems like using the foot tether is just an additional 2' move

not intendedIt rather seems you are. Nevertheless, it's not me. Credit to @Steve_Eh of Canada.
This has made one sticking 25% faster and easier for me. Has anyone else tried it?
Using and a foot loop aider I’ve been able to add 18 to 24 inches of height per transition which saves me an entire transition by the time I get to 20 feet. That means I only have to set my stick three times rather than four and only sit against the tree, reach down and grab my stick, etc...saddlehunter.com
I'm not qualified to give climbing advice, so I'll refrain from further comment. Thanks for sharing Steve.
Yea a lineman’s belt is unnecessary and limits or makes setting MY tether high annoying. So I don’t use one. I don’t use a leg to hold me to the tree or anything either. No problem for me,I'm also surprised at the number of people who don't use a lineman belt when advancing the tether. It takes 3 seconds to throw it around the tree and clip in. Then you don't have to worry about falling backward, you don't have to wrap your leg around and hump the tree, and you can use two hands.
Just to add the context of experience to your statement....Have you done a bunch of 2TC?I'm also surprised at the number of people who don't use a lineman belt when advancing the tether. At my age, only way I am letting go with both hands is if I have my lineman's hooked up. When I was your age or younger, I didnt use any type of safety gear at all, climbing or in the treestand. Over the years nearly all of my hunting friends have fallen and I have seen the effects of it from broken backs to being gashed and bruised from falling on screw-in steps.Just to add the context of experience to your statement....Have you done a bunch of 2TC?
I don't see how having a linesman belt will stabilize your foothold on the tree (which is the reason for foot wrap). The tether will interfere with the linesman as you step up in the foot tether and try to advance the top one...also having 3 ropes on the tree can get very tricky.....
I strongly feel everyone 2TC should have a secondary saddle tie in on their foot tether that gives the safety factor while advancing your main tether.
IMHO what makes all the difference in the world is the ease of advancing tethers up the bark of the tree and the size of the move(don't overreach). Find a solution to that (I have) and stability problems mostly go away!
I haven't implemented this technique yet except in my head so keep that in mind......1 single rope that is minimum 9mm, preferably larger diameter, and stiff like the black htp....triple bowline dressed to were the middle.loop is tiny and the outer 2 loops large enough for relatively easy foot insertion on either end of this rope and say 15+ foot of rope in the middle. Throw bowline around the tree and timber hitch as high as u can reach, attach ur long multi step aider onto small center loop of the bowline. Climb up aider with linesman and get ur foots into the 2 large loops and remove aider off the bowline and cinch up linesman and attach the opposite end triple bowline and attach the aider. Step into aider and untie lower timber hitch....I'm going to mess around this off season. I've already played with the triple bowline part of the equation and that works pretty good.....I'm just unsure of the length of rope needed between the 2 ends to allow for easy leap frog action but not have a butt ton of extra rope dangling.I have also been experimenting with a singular tether that is longer that you leap frog but I’m not sure if I’ll try and incorporate that here or not.
