$150 trail camera recomendation

I'm looking for opinions on trail cameras. So far, browning seems to have a good reputation.

I'd like to get 2 for $150.

Is it worth it to spend $75 per camera or should I spend the whole $150 and get something a little better?

*public land use but I'm not overly concerned on theft.

Another vote exodus. Same quality as Browning but way better benefits.

Browning, browning....... browning. Specifically the Dark Ops versions. Run them with good cards, and lithium batteries and they will give you YEARS of quality service.

Walmart TASCOS are highly underrated. they do exactly what you need from a trail camera for a fraction of the price. They are inexpensive, take excellent photos, and have a long running battery life. can do video or photo and wont break the bank if they are taken. and for $150 you can get 5 of them!!! they are the only cameras I use other than my $150 spypoint cell camera.

The only problem I found with those cameras are they make an audible click when they take a pic. My dad and I bought a couple, they all made the noise so I returned them. I had a camera years ago that clicked when it took a pic and all of the pics I had of mature bucks were first looking at the camera and second running away.

Can second browning. Had a nice one that someone else felt they needed more than I did.
I really like the Primos Proof Gen 2s and 3s. I have 6 I run all year round, haven't had one fail yet. They're dead simple to use and take great pics and vids. I get about a year of battery life on dollar store batteries.

I've had a lot of luck with bushnell trophycams. They have all sorts of models over different years. I can usually pick them up for less than 100 bucks if I search. The only ones that have given me trouble are the ones the bears got to! Now they all go in bear boxes.

I have had good luck with Bushnell's, Browning, and Exodus. I like the Exodus best. The Bushnell's are the cheapest. I had 1 go bad under warranty. I had a Browning dark ops go bad under warranty as well. My Exodus had a buckle break and I will be sending it in this summer.

I have one reconyx hc-600, one exodus lift and two bushnell aggressor max. If one of those cameras crapped out, I'd most likely replace it with a bushnell. They have great batter life, decent pics and the screen is easy to read with old eyes.

The exodus is ok, but not my favorite as I find the screen difficult to read, particularly in daylight. It also has a dead spot in the detection zone and does miss deer coming in from the left, only catching rump shots. Lastly, I'm not a huge fan on where the sd card slot is. The slot is really close to the back of the cam, making it harder than it needs to be when changing cards (cold weather is worse).

The reconyx is a realiable as hell and hasn't failed me in five plus years. The price is steep though.

I'd second suicyderider's post on the Wal-Mart Tascos. Back them up with a decent sized memory card and some good batteries and I don't worry about them for a couple months and I'm sure you can go longer. I've never noticed an audible click but then again maybe my hearing is shot. If someone decides to take one I'm only out $30. You can afford to double em up in your area if you're scared of having it stolen and losing your pictures. Seems like the thieves will give up once they steal one of your trail cams/memory cards.

I found Covert MP6 (old models) on eBay new last year for ~$40 each (since it's a bid system, that was the average I paid). Paid $99 each when they were new models and that is what they still sell for on Amazon.

I still un 8-10 of these as soakers. Here is a link and you can move through eBay from here ...but VERY BUDGET FRIENDLY option, and you might be able to get three for $150.

Browning apex Dark ops.

I dont get the Exodus comments. I've got their lift I and II. Horrendous detection circuit. Both miss a ton of pics in my testing (compared to browning and skypoint) and they seldom trigger at 20 yards.... more likely 30-40 ft. And when I put them 10 foot high facing down they miss alot of pics my other cameras get.
