Thanks guys. That was the first time I ever put a camera there, so I'm looking forward to going back next weekend to check them again.

That's what I love about trail cameras - they give you confidence in your hunting area. I wasn't able to run any this summer and I'm pretty bummed about it.

just picked up a camera. Hopefully, will be able to post some pics up soon. G2 shoot me a PM and lemme see how close we hunted to each other before you PCS'd. Thinking this will be my last year in NNY need to bag a goodun!

Rccordrey,
Go ahead and shoot me the coordinates to this location. You know, just for the heck of it:cool:.

I hung two cameras today for the first time all year and they're on travel routes near one of my stands. I don't really care what's on them now, I'm more curious what shows up on them late Oct into the first week of Nov after the pressure sets in and the rut starts to heat up. Exciting and fun to see the pictures, but how often on completely fair chase hunting grounds do you end up seeing the same deer? I'm guessing it rarely happens in places where you can't feed them within 30+ days of the season opening or at all during the season.

Seems there are lots of guys who see the same deer every year. Me, I see them at 1.5yr old, then never see them again. lol

I have a spot that I don't need to hang a camera on because of how predictable the deer are using this travel route, but it's mostly doe. Last year I took a really nice buck, first one with the bow, coming from the bedding area where I normally have doe come out.

The cameras are on a group of three properties that share lines and add up to about 31 acres. Far more options for them to travel and it allows me to put a camera up and check it periodically without screwing up where my trees are set up to hunt.

This bigger property has trails cut through it where neighbors walk a dog, ride a quad, or small game hunt. Learned that after catching all of it on camera. Just forced me to get down into the thicker area along a creek at the low point where the three property lines run. No foot traffic or dog walking down there and there are consistently loads of tracks there. Post season scouting last year showed scrapes and I routinely saw deer traveling there from my stand before figuring out they were avoiding the area I was hunting because of the circus routinely traveling right in front of my stand. All deer traffic in those areas moved after dark.
