Rccordrey, I was out checking one of your stands this weekend. I saw this guy lurking around. I hope he doesn't take any of your cameras....

Ok guys I'll start cropping out the corn to make everyone feel better.
I have hunting over corn and probably will again to shoot a deer. This tactic is not successful for me to kill a buck. I killed four bucks last year three from my saddle none over corn. I use corn for my pictures and inventory. No need to hunt an area that doesn't have what I want.

Lol. Just giving you a hard time buddy. I have some friends who hunt over corn and it's been interesting to watch. It's illegal here so I have never joined in, but it seems like all they ever see is does and little bucks. But they sit in their ladder stands all week watching the same corn. Granted it makes the time go by when there are deer to watch, but it's not very effective for bucks. It's like the big bucks are to smart to come to it. Have you seen the same thing? I have a corn feeder in my back yard during the winter too and have yet to even catch a small buck on camera.

Baiting is legal here. I will do the same thing as @Rccordrey to take inventory of the bucks in the area. On public land, mature bucks will definitely come into the corn after dark, but not until after dark. Once the rut picks up they may stop by during the day but I think they're just looking for does.

I see exactly the same thing. The big ones are on to the corn game. Great for pictures. That's all I've got this year is pictures. I've hunted nearly every day this month and not one chance at a big buck.

What do you guys think of this guy? A friend of mine shared this, with me.. It's basically in his back yard 40 yards from his, garage. He doesn't have a single daylight picture of him and doesn't know if he survived the rifle season. Check out those extra beams....

Those night trail camera pictures did not do that deer justice. Talk about a unicorn and a monster!!!

Still getting good daylight pics huh @Rccordrey? I think we're in the second rut right now here and it seems to be pretty decent. It's shotgun season this week and my dad shot a nice one cruising around midmorning, and he's getting lots of bucks moving around on his backyard cam. Its going to be nice and cold tomorrow and I'll be out all afternoon, should be a good sit.

Did some scouting yesterday, lots of fresh rubs and scrapes, definitely from the past few days.

I did also, found numerous rubs, scrapes and feeding sign around green brier. This deer is rubbing and pawing the same paws and rubs that the 10 pt that i took last was working. Maybe he will be another good one. If I take him, it will be with the web!!!
