I have never been part of a “team” here. And I really haven’t looked into what they are about, or how that works. Being on the outside, the constant flow of the “team” threads popping up during the season is kind of awkward to just keep going and ignore them. I reached out to a moderator once to see if I could somehow block seeing all of the “teams” threads, but it doesn’t appear to be an option. Oh well. I’ll continue to scroll past. :)

Or you can join us. Even Tom Cruise needed friends.

Come on in the waters fine! You can harrass, mock, ridicule and make fun of the other teams and get support, encouragement and high fives from your team members. Then there's bragging rights until next year if your team comes out on top. All the while you also get great commentary from @boyne bowhunter as he gives us weekly score updates. What more could you ask for?

I really enjoy getting familiar with my team mates. Since participating in the contest this place feels
More like a real community and less like a bunch of strangers talking gear.

in my first year or two of saddle hunting the contest was great motivation to succeed in the saddle. Now I’ve come full circle and this year my goal is to always hunt in whatever fashion is the best strategy for the day. Because ultimately the contest is is just a fun way to share time with friends.

So for me The contest is kinda like hunting camp. After a day alone in the woods hunting it’s great to come back to a place where everyone is sharing stories and making light of their struggles and successes.

Same here last year was my first year on a team and it was great hearing all the stories of my teammates, successes and failures throughout the season. Also made me hunt harder than usual just to try and contribute to the team, I’m also glad that this contest is not contaminated with a prize, to me it’s just nice to compete in something for the pure fun of it! Can’t wait to sign up this year and to converse with my new teammates. God Bless and happy hunting, it’s closing in fast on opening day in Ky—September 2nd!!!!!

This year will be my first on a team and I’m excited to be a part of something on the forum. It’s not a burden in my mind. I like reading others’ stories and experiences to learn from and provide my minimalist advice I have to give. Glad to be a part of this guys!

I'm looking forward to getting on a team this year. First year hunting out of a saddle. DIY saddles for the wife and I. I expect I will be mostly moral support for my team seeing as NH doesn't have the highest deer densities. I still enjoy it nonetheless.
Hey, you never know. You might put a monster on the ground this year. Anything is possible in the deer woods. I live in Maine, another low deer density state but still manage to put 1 or more down every year.

We haven’t started the smack talk thread yet… but while maine May be a low density state some of those coastal counties have 50 deer per square mile. All ya gotta do is beg permission from the summer people. :).IMG_5385.jpeg
