Probably. But I've never weighed theirs. By factory splicing ours, we removed the weight and bulk of a figure eight knot without reducing the practical strength. We also chose lighter, more high end carabiners.

I'm a big believer in practical strength. Some stuff in the hunting industry is soooooooo over built. But look at the rock climbing industry... It's way more dangerous than anything we ever do, and their gear is simple, light, and compact.

Why some hunters want a piece of heavy gear big enough to hold an elephant is beyond me. If that's what you want, Tethrd is not the company for you lol.

We believe in building safe, user friendly gear without unnecessary weight and bulk. Simple, right?

Man,did you ever open my eyes with this post! Thanks

Some of us are Elephants. LOL.

I take a look at all the weight to strength ratios. Your right though, that you do not need need something with a 10k rating. Safety factors are built in. The problem most guys have including me unless you are buying something made in America I always go for the higher safety ratings. I want the same safety factors in there that a guy that is 200 lbs has. However, I realize if I am 250 lbs and you are 190 lbs and we using the same sticks rated for 300 lb and it is made over seas there is a good chance that the stick is going to give out on me long before it does on you. I also realize since I am not a light weight I need to accept that, and not try and squeeze a square into a round hole.

That being said after talking with @Erniepower, and conversing with @BassBoysLLP, @flinginairos and the infamous @huck72412, I truly believe this is a very safe system and no short cuts were spared. So even a guy like myself can use it.

I want to thank you guys.

Yup. Being a big guy always causes us to pause and ask.

I probably missed this being in such a hurry ordering the saddle, tether, and lineman’s belt... the carabiner is not included?

I couldn’t get in for pre-order, but as soon as I get the money I WILL have a mantis and predator. I hope to end up with 2 or 3 of each at some point, but that will REALLY have to wait.
