I think they are "heavy" when you are just holding the saddle. When you put it on, they are barely noticeable.

I am curious how hard it could be to sell the EVO right now with this Kestrel out.
Is New Tribe doing anything for people who wana swap? But at 245, may just buy it and save my evo for friends to try out lol

Agreed, but there has to be a full pound of buckles on there. And then another 3 or 4oz on that carabiner. I wonder why they chose that particular carabiner. I like large carabiners that can be worked with gloves on my tether though. And the lock on that carabiner is nice.
But a Petzl William is large and much lighter. Also have some of the small Black Diamond Positron locking carabiners which I would normally use on connections like that.
Yep! Rated click buckles will have some weight to them. There are lighter options but not in a rated click buckle. We took care of the weight in other areas just so we could go with them. I also like the ease for new users which there are becoming more and more of.
We are using either Fusion (sometimes stamped Amp) or SMC. We need at least double locking. I don't believe it is any heavier than a William Ball Lock or Triact and easier to use.
I just saw this thread and I have to admit, this saddle looks better than I expected.
The problem is that now I have to buy another saddle. Like I needed another one.

I am all in favor of safety! And as stated, the function of these buckles is great. They are convenient, ergonomic and safe. Worth their weight.
I just weighed a few carabiners on a food scale. The Petzl William screwlock is a little more than 1oz lighter than the AMP.
The BD Positrons a bit lighter than the William and of course, smaller.
