Yes capturing your stick in the tether is dumb. It becomes an ab workout. A lot more energy expenditure. I don’t know why people do that.

The 4 step in the aider works great for ground level first but really shines when I dont have to step up to get on my aider on the other moves. The 4th step is at foot level, and I just step into it and check my stick security without getting any slack in my system whatsoever.

I like it a lot. It still gives me enough foot room and I can pretty much shoot around a basketball sized tree with a lengthened tether. I like and still use the original UP platform but I didn't use it once this season. I like the smaller LP coupled with the ULS for a one stick set up.

Let’s see some pictures of that bad boy. I just set up a 12” stick the same way. Still trying to decide if I like this one or my scout better

Space out the aider steps. I’m 5’9” and my 2 step 19” puts the firs step at my knees as far as I can throw it up on the first set. After that the third step is useless.

I feel this is very specific to the user and weather climate. I use a 2 step at 16 inch and during September I wish I had a 3rd, but in December/January I wish I had went with 15 inch. I am only about 5'8 though and probably closer to 5'6/7 if I am being honest with myself. I live in Ohio

I’ve always felt that was another advantage of more steps….closer spacing while still allowing you to get higher.
