No 458 socom fans in the house?

I have a 300BO currently but would love to build a 458 upper for it
Love the 458, just doesn't fit 200-250 yd. It is however an absolute beast in the thick stuff. Biggest turn off for most would be ammo cost and availability, never saw a box at the local Wally world.

Nice. Now post up a parts list so I can copy you lol. I've been looking at getting my first black gun but keep getting lost in the huge amount. Of options/opinions out there, and it seems like the gun stores here just want to sell whatever is the most $ item in stock. Was just going to buy a fully assembled one because there's just too much information out there, but a 5.56 with an extra 350 legend upper (and whatever else you need to swap between the two?) would be great for range and deer.

If you’re looking to swap uppers, consider if you can use the same magazines in the lower that will work with the upper you want. For example, a 5.56 lower uses the same magazines as 300 blackout. I have no knowledge of 350 legend, so you would need to check in to that.

Started with a 80% lower, built this 5.56 with a Palmetto State kit...now with the 80's being illegal, I bought an Anderson lower...shoots great.

Did get a red dot for it and tossed that for a scope...here it is bare.

And the scope with riser...crappy pic but.

350 legend has a value add in being legal to hunt deer with where I live here in MD so it would be worth the extra to use it, where another bottleneck cartridge would be a range only or a far away from where I live hunting caliber

It wasn't my first choice either but the fact that it is always on the shelf was why I went with that caliber.

It was having some feeding issue when it was dirty but my friend who has lots more experience with this kinda stuff than me worked on it for me to clear that problem up.

I didn't have much of a gun season last year and only hunted with this gun for 3 days and got skunked. Hopefully this next year I'll be more lucky and get to see what it'll do.

Good point. Depending on the upper you choose, it could be more cost effective to buy another complete gun. The Ruger American has a 350 Legend option too. For right around $550 or so.

True, as likely obvious I'm not exactly sure how AR assembly works quite yet. I already have a 350 CVA cascade so I don't really need another... Mainly just looking for additional reasons to justify another addition and somewhat interested in countering the "you can't hunt with an AR" narrative that I hear a lot/used to believe before I started actually learning about them.

The lower assembly is "the gun" and the upper assemblies swap with 2 pins....I probably pick up a 16" 556 upper when they do the big sales for the zombies

I've built two lowers and two uppers from parts. It's not hard to do.
I did a 6.8 spc and a 223 wylde. I deer hunt with the 6.8

Is the fix pretty easy with the feed issue? 350 legend still on my list for this season. Not sure if I will get there or not. Over all pretty happy with it?
