This is how I learned to shoot from a saddle. Lucky enough to have a lot of trees around the house.

My back yard is the size of a postage stamp. No tree to shoot from either. A telephone pole would be great except I'd have to sink it into the middle of my driveway and shoot into my "range" (a target in my garage). It's one of the compromises I made to get the house my wife wanted

Who else has a tree in their back yard? Granted mine is a telephone pole...whatevs.

I know some of you OGs have been doing this forever. What's your back yard setup? I want to improve my position.

I have trees in front and back
Neighbors got a kick in the beginning
Moving soon to an urban hotspot where I’ll be able to hunt in my backyard and the neighbor has 10 acres I’ve been hunting for years !

What length did you have it cut to?

I have a backyard practice tree. There's almost no bark left on it from ground level up to about 8 feet high, and very little grass growing around it in a 3 foot radius. At this point, it might as well be a telephone pole...

Just sittin' here waiting for someone to point out that you were wearing sandals instead of Crocs while practicing...

W the versa aider 18 feet is easy. Then step up to the platform. I prefer an easy climb compared to a stressful one. I’m sure younger and more flexible can easily get to 20’.

Ten acres of trees out my back door. Pick your flavor and go for it. Would not know what to do without trees to cut down and climb.
