Beast sticks vs all others?

Opposite of many of the other guys I had double steps on my cut down lone wolfs and went back to the folding single steps for the sake of compactness it’s a give and take but I like compact better.

I have had Muddy Pro, LW as well as LW Mini sticks, Heliums, Heliums I cut down, and API.

LW are nice, especially with the Dano double steps. Not as packable as some, and dont sit off the tree very far.

Heliums are a bit heavier, but have more room for your foot, and grip the tree just fine for me.

LW mini (with doublesteps) pack easily and are light, but have the same limited foot room as the long LW.

Cut down Heliums have very few drawbacks, when paired with an aider IMO.

The API are heavy, for what they are. I mainly used them for parts on mods of other sticks.

Would like to try Beast Sticks, but when you add in shipping, they are over $90 each. I paid $99 for 3 Heliums with free shipping earlier this year.

My wallet and common sense tell me I will stick with Heliums.

Here's my poor man's beast sticks. At $80 for 3, I'll just hump the extra pounds on the rare day that I use sticks.

The secret to getting a longer step is to lean back in your lineman's belt..... that and work on it with some stretching throughout the year. No way I could step 24 inches without doing both.
I'm 5'4". Tested the beast sticks out and they felt fine to me. Stepping up 22"-24" without a tree is different than making that same step with a tree, lineman's belt, and another stick to hold onto.

In the summer before I cut my helium sticks, I could just skip the center steps with ease. What's that, 30"? Put on my hunting pants and not happening. Lol

Definitely a factor worth considering!

Agree. My first set of Beast Sticks are early prototypes and they are a few inches longer than the current production sticks. My first reaction before trying the prototypes was that it’s a heck of a step distance but after using them awhile I was actually wishing they were even a bit longer.

I was worried about the step length too I’m only 5-9 but like everyone else said it’s a non issue for me even with my heavy winter gear on.

I am switching to 4-5 wild edge steps with Knaider and aider so that I can shed 5-6 lbs and the sticks won’t snag on brush (cuz I won’t have them lashed to my backpack). Hopefully I made the right choice otherwise I have to buy more sticks

Anyone know of any place that has the hawk heliums in stock?

I've been looking as well. By the looks of it, they're gone for the season or gone for good. Some websites list them as out of stock and others say discontinued.

It seems they do one production run a year and get them all shipped from overseas at once. The past couple years they've hit the market around June/ July and have been pretty well sold out by November/December.

I highly doubt they are discontinued unless they are tweaking the design. In my estimation they are pretty darn popular.

I believe you are spot on. Why discontinue something you sell out of every year?

On a side note, my local Bass Pro still has some. Anybody want to pay me a usurious "finders fee" for them? Anyone?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but did Muddy change the name to Beast Sticks? Or is the Beast brand a knockoff Muddy brand?

Beast Sticks are a brand/type of thier own. No affiliation with Muddy. I have a set of Beast Sticks and they are really nice. I have owned a set of Muddy Sticks as well. They are a nice stick but heavy and have a short step.

No Beast stick were designed and brought to market by Dan Infalt, The Hunting Beast.

Just curious, does anyone know if these are made in the USA? I don't see that anywhere on his site.
