So as I wait desperately to have more money to buy more gear for saddle hunting. I need to know a verage length for my bridge rope length and mm. May go with a steel but I want other options as well.

And a good tether length as well.. thanks guys for your help. Also I’ll be using a guidos web.

My tethers are about 7' long. I use Bluewater Assault 11mm rope. This rope is very rigid and beefy. I use the same rope for my LB. Tethers are green, LB is black. A 7' tether is plenty long enough for trees bigger than a basketball with an above eye/forehead level tether hookup. I generally hunt volleyball/soccer ball size trees with a forehead level hookup and I always have 4' of tether hanging below my Ropeman.

In this video (at 31 seconds) you can see how much of my tether is hanging down. You also see how big of a tree it is. Also, forehead height means standing, not sitting.

Thanks G2 I ordered a 10mm 65 foot black Sterling HTP. Now I’m gonna get my linemen belt and tethers. Thanks for the input.

that looks like a really long bridge. Does this increase your comfort level?

My bridge is 28". I find it incredibly comfortable. I can sit all day.

I'm going to give 28" inches a try. I'm coming from a TL saddle so I've never had to worry about bridge length. Any idea how long the TL bridge was on a mesh saddle?

No clue. I used an old TL neoprene version and the bridge was tiny...maybe 14"-18". I think that's why a lot of people found them uncomfortable.

sat in the kestrel in the backyard today for the first time. love it!
with the tether at forehead height and 26" bridge im finding it challenging to move to my right for a shot behind me.
thoughts on how to help with that?

Do you want me to measure the bridge on the leather TL you sold me??

I'm sitting in a leather TL right now. With the saddle clinched tight to the max, bridge looks like about 36", 18" per side.

Raise the tether and/or sit lower.
Forehead height when you are standing or when you are hanging?

I don't know how you hunt with all those alligators. I am from Pa we don't have them up here thank God.

word. I figured that would be the solution. I've always put my tether well above head height before. still okay with a 26 -28" bridge?

Why are having trouble moving?

not enough slack/length in the tether it seems.

Not enough to just shoot behind you? How far do you have between where your bridge contacts the tether and the tether hits the tree?

Does anyone else run a prussik on the knot side of their bridge so they can have an adjustable bridge?

I was always finding the I was most comfortable with my tether at about 1 ft above my head, but sometimes that doesn't work good in all trees. So I just added a Prussik on the knot side of my bridge (keeping the knot) and I can adjust the bridge length to match my tether height and wether I want to lean or sit that day.
