Real curious how you guys carry your climbing sticks, etc in. I used to strap everything to my stand and walk in, now that I'm replacing my stands but keeping the sticks I'm curious as to how I'll comfortably and quietly carry everything in.
Packing them in was really the main reason I went with Muddy Short sticks several years ago. I'm tall, so the middle step does me no good on a lone wolf long stick. Plus I couldn't see how carrying them any other way than over my shoulder would be quiet or convenient.
With My guido's web, I packed them between the seat and back pad, sideways. On my lone wolf assault, I would put the sticks to one side of the stand, parallel to the seat post, set my backpack on top of seat post, and lean sticks into backpack. Then use the two straps for the stand to cinch everything down.
Now I'm primarily using one stick - and I carry it. I hunt in a lot of steep ridges and I use it like an ice axe to maintain balance. If I went back to multiple sticks, I'll probably still keep one out for this purpose.
I guess he means he can take bigger steps so spacing 3 smaller sticks farther apart is more weight efficient than spacing 3 longer sticks. You don't get as high but the difference doesn't offset the weight? How does being tall negate the needed for the middle step on a Lone Wolf stick? Are the steps not the same distance apart on the muddy short stick? So you need more sticks to cover the same vertical distance. Help me understand.

I do this with the Alps Pursuit pack. The built in bow/gun carrier works perfectly for sticks. Thanks for the input guys
Those universal carry straps look very good, I'm planning on using a backpack to carry in my camera gear and accessories so I'm looking for something to attach the sticks to my back pack. I was also thinking about getting a back pack that you can attach your bow to so I could carry sticks on my left & right and bow in the middle.
Has anyone tried something like this before? Or will the sticks destroy the bow?
I think the lone wolf steps are 16 inches in between and the muddy short sticks are 18 inches in between. That's off the top of my head so it might be slightly different. How does being tall negate the needed for the middle step on a Lone Wolf stick?
