CGM Foot Loops are Amazing!

Gotcha.

Only his left leg is in a foot loop so when he’s sitting in the saddle, he tucks both legs up for ease while advancing the foot tether.

When standing, he’s only using his left leg to stand and uses his right leg to wrap the tree. This locks him in and allows him to be hands free to advance the saddle tether.

Then simply repeat…

Ah…now I see. When I was watching it the first time I thought I saw a footloop coming down to his right foot also. Now that I look closer I see that it is just the tail of his bridge or something hanging down between his legs that only looks like it is going to his right foot. Makes perfect sense now. Thanks!

Yeah, don't use hardware store rope!
I untied the JRB ascender hitch that I had on my rappel rope with 3/8" standard rope and it was partially melted in a couple of places. o_O A VERY bad idea to use that type of rope for a climbing hitch.

I just received my 50' section of 6mm GM Climbing rope this morning. I cut a 5' section and I've retied the JRB ascender hitch, will try it out soon and get some new photos.
Also, I'm going to start using just 1 of the Foot Loops, as it was mentioned by @MNFarmHunter , using my left foot in the loop and using my right leg to wrap around the tree, gives me some freedom with my hands to ascend the hitch and move the tethers up. :)

I did some climbing, earlier this evening and found that using 1 Foot Loop works better than 2. Using my left leg to climb and my right leg to hug the tree, as I move the tethers up, works with less climbing effort.
I'm not sure what was going on with my JRB ascending hitch, that I tied with my new 6mm rope, but it bites the rope so hard it makes it difficult to release during the rappel. I may try it again tomorrow, but use a distel hitch with a mini pulley and see how that works.
Also, I apologize for all the clutter in the background of these photos.
I'll have to pick a different tree the next time, with a clearer background.

With the JRB ascender hitch you have to get then tension on the coils right. It should be loose enough to catch by spreading out. For me once I get the tension perfect it tends to stay that way and doesn't get tight after that.
