Christmas in July! Plan to up my ground game.

I’m excited to try on mine this year, I’ve been practicing shooting with it this summer in a AllPredatorCalls Kill suit and a 52” recurve. I made a half dozen PVC 3/4” and 1” diameter PVC stakes.

I’ve stealth stripped the legs and with shock cord and cord locks I’ve rigged it to carry the stakes to make a blind as well as a ground bow holder.

I plan to do much more in season scouting with the chair and come back with a saddle setup when I actually find good sign. Maybe that will be the breakthrough I need.

One of the best hunting investments you’ll ever make. I love mine. Now grab a ghillie, set up downwind whenever wind direction shifts and get to killin’

I buy the best (cheapest) flannel shirt WalMart has. Any color works. For summer, just cut off the sleeves.
I agree it's most likely not necessary to go full ghillie in most circumstances. I've gotten shots off the ground in a $15 orange hoodie from Amazon (see below). I do like to have a boonie hat with ghillie material on it though. I think good back cover and something to break up the human silhouette is key.

I wrapped all the exposed aluminum tubing with camo vet wrap to make it pretty quiet.

One thing I made a couple of years ago is a ghillie ring to go on a boonie hat. That way I can take it off if I want. It is just a short loop of rope that fits around the hat that I can tie various bits of material too. This one is for gun season. I may make up a couple more, one with dark strips for woodland and maybe sone with light tan for dry grassy areas.

A full asat suit fits inside the large ewo pouch, and whatta know, u can get the pouch in asat also hehehe

I'd think u could attach that pouch to the chair somehow. I'm spoiled with multiple saddle setups and my ground hunting saddle is bare except the large pouch that holds the leafy suit and a daisy chained tether. Saddle up, grab a light pack/my weapon, and take off.

Here’s how I’ve set mine up, I’ll lash my sapper suit (and extra upper layers under the top strap). I do have first aid supplies (chest seals, flat bandage, NAR survival wrap, and bandaids), a knife, mini compass, small silky saw in there with plenty of room to spare. Walking around with it, nothing rattles.

I got out a little and tried out various leafy suit combinations and hats this morning. I think for early season I will just use my lightweight leafy suit top and a ghillie'd up boonie hat. Here is a still from a little video I shot this morning.

Here is the turkey chair I use. As you can see it is very low to the ground and I can really lean back. It is a good place to take a nap. I've shot quite a few turkeys and a buck out of it. The good thing about them is you can just jam them up in a low bush, sit down, and disappear.

I have 2 Mathews Heli M compounds and they are short axle to axle bows. I can get away with ground clearance by a little bit shooting them out of that turkey chair. For the longbow I cant the bow almost horizontal and lean over to get everything right. It works.

The Pac Seat about 12 inches wide and about 33 inches long and about 3 inches thick packed up. I don't have it in front of me to measure at the moment. These are ballpark numbers. What really struck me on first impressions is how light it is. It reminds me of one of those folding aluminum chairs with the strap seat material we had when I was a kid. It seems very well made. I sat in it and shifted around and did some shooting out of it and it is very nice and there was no squeaking in it at all.
I know in the past folks were complaining about a popping noise from the mesh seat. Now mine has started that. I vet wrapped under the mesh w/no help. Waldrop wants it returned but says he's never heard of anyone having an issue w/theirs. I thought that was a common issue but maybe not.

I seem to remember a mention or two of it is other threads, maybe the "putting the pack in packseat" thread? Does it seem to be a fabric binding then slipping issue making the noise or is it maybe metallic?

The Pledge furniture spray actually does the trick if you spray liberally where the mesh fabric meets the metal. If you don't like doing this every 5 hunts or like the smell (both of which I dont) I took the seat off by undoing the paracord and wrapped all of the sections that meet the metal part with stealth strips. It has to be stealth strips and not coband/vet wrap. The coband/vet wrap still squeaks and I've tried both.

Maybe rub some bowstring wax on the tube where the material goes over it.

I tried that too. Bowstring wax works where it's jointed together between the nylon washers but still allows the mesh seat to squeak after a bit. On mine it seems like the rubber coating on the mesh meeting the tubing is the culprit. Mine was quiet for a long time too but then eventually started squeaking. I just used some left over stealth strips I had for some 1" sticks. There's various versions of the stick on fleece that'll probably work just as well as stealth strips.

Maybe try wrapping the tubing in waxed dental floss in a spiral pattern leaving half an inch spacing. It might be enough to stop it from making contact and slipping. Just an idea. Mine is still quiet by the way so maybe by the time mine squeaks we can find a solution, lol.

Yep. Vet wrap was a waste.

Waldrop says to buy a bar wax at wal mart. He sent me a label to return it.
