Climbing Harness and Sit Drag

My favorite part of the secondary rock harness is the belay loop. It gives you a lot of options in your safety system as well as good connection point for rappelling, SRT, etc.

I may need to add this in my consideration between the two.

New here..
I already have the RC harness /rope/rapelling gear..I rock climb. I sure do like the look of the Kestral.

as far as harness I love my met safe tech harness...sit drag in the back of my mind is a little sketchy, but its backed up by the climbing harness.

Ive ordered a kestrel, simply for a do-it all where I can easily add a bottom layer on stand with the clips.(kuiu puff pants :kissingheart:)

That's my reasoning anyways, we will see. It seems an improved trophyline though...cant lose

Just looked at the Pilot. It is good for rapping on a single strand (or belaying ) I always rap on 2 strands .Rope is never "tied" only threaded through anchors.. Wrapped over a branch/notch would work too. That way when I get to the bottom just pull 1 side & rope is free.
yeah most guys here are doing single rope. Rope is one of the bulkiest/heaviest things in my pack, just with 8mm single rope rappel.
but its fast, so worth its weight

I am new to the tree world... But very interested in the SRT methods. Looking for light, fast & quiet . & would love to not carry that climbing stand around.

I personally do one stick/platform and rap down.
srt with the ropemans I may try if I can wrap my head around it. The one picture Ive seen isn't doing me any favors

Question.. I get how you are climbing.. But if you are single strand rapping ... I imagine fixing the rope up top? How are you getting your rope back?

tie in a screw-lock with 6" tag/stopper knot. Girth hitch rap rope through screw-lock
Then you have some paracord tied/clipped to the stopper knot/tag end to pull it down

I suck at describing stuff. better at drawring pitures
