Custom SitDrag

Thanks for the pics. This is my next purchase.

Did you use the speedy stitcher sewing awl to sew the leather? How much do they weigh?

Yeah I used the speedy stitcher to hold the one end of the strap in place. Was a complete pain lol that Leather is thick!!

Oh and they weight 2.75lbs a piece. With the stock straps they are over 3lbs

Can anybody compare the comfort between a sit drag and an ambush saddle.

JHicks is a pretty good resource for these types of questions as he has had about every saddle out there.
Very similar in comfort and function (assuming the Trophyline shoulder straps have been removed). The main difference is that with the Trophyline, you get built-in lineman belt and the wider seat means the pressure area is more dispersed. This results in a little more bulk, but possibly a little more comfort. Possibly.

I think a better comparison is the Sit-n-Drag and the Anderson Tree Sling. Although you can adjust the depth of the Anderson (more versatility), I rarely, if ever, utilize that ability and often wish it was simply a single seat.

For the price, the Sit and Drag is pretty sweet.

Are the buckles plastic. I love my spurs but really hate the stock straps that came with them. I have some leather ones coming but I'm really liking the webbing straps.

Yeah they are plastic. They are nice though I have no worries with them. If you look up ITW Fastex buckles on eBay you can get sets of them for a pretty good price.

How are you guys tying your bridges to the Sitdrag? I'm considering all options.

I shortened mine to 24" and sewed it back on like it came from the factory.

I just got my Spurs in. Man that padding and leather is thick. Didn't have time to put them together. Need to look at a sewing machine. I can see how your straps are an improvement.

Yeah they are thick! I was surprised too. They are comfy tho just make sure you adjust the pad so the top is just under your knee cap. Last two hunts I have stood mainly on the spikes and been fine.

Well I got my Sit Drag today. Man this thing is sweet! Such a perfect modding platform and it's comfortable! Definitely seems better than the upper belt on my Evo. I already added a waist strap and buckle and sewed the loops on the side closed so it's easier to clip the biners on. I have a few more things to do but so far I think this thing is great!!

What are you doing for your bridge?

Same as my Evo. 36" Yale Bandit. Probably just going to clip it on with biners instead of tying it directly to the loops. And thanks for the sewing compliments lol. It's a skill I didn't know I had until a week ago haha

Nice pics/work. You guys are killing me .... my honeydo list (not married so all self imposed) is growing. Guess I've got to get a sewing ask now. I like how you sewed up the loops.

He's right Flingin - those sewn loops are legit. I'll be doing that this weekend after I get some new thread.

Was this work done by machine or awl? Looks good and preparing to mod mine in a similar way.
