Picked up cabelas stand hunter extreeme coveralls for $289. Been wanting them for a while. That price was too good for me to pass up.

From what i hear they are as warm as the heater body suit, but you dont need to unzip to take a shot...

I love the stand hunter extreme coveralls. The only downside is that they are pretty heavy and bulky. My father calls it my bear suit cause I look so big lol. I have sat for 8 hours in them in 0 degrees with 20 mile per hour winds. I've shot a few deer with my bow out of them in January. When I'm bowhunting with them I just have to make sure I have the left arm and shoulder tucked down out of the way so that my bow string has enough clearance. I always carry them to the tree and put them on there.

Awesome... i dont mind the bulk if they keep me toasty warm while in the stand...

I also considered unzipping for shot if the sleeve gets in the way...

How was the sizing on yours? I am 5'6 210 muscular build and i ordered the xl even though the large would fit according to the sizing chart... i saw in reviews that sizing chart is all wrong...

I have hunted out of the stand hunters for years. I have the older version before they added a wind blocking layer. I never got cold on calm days. Even at 15 below. I added frog toggs underneath and was unstoppable. I recently bought an incinerator set hoping to cut down on bulk. It hasn't been cold enough to use them yet

sweet.. I have a coat like that... it has a wind proof outer shell, and a down inner lining... I live in Massachusetts where winters can be brutal... ( couple years ago never got above freezing for well over 30 days in a row) and it never got cold enough that i didn't sweat like crazy with it on... Tried it down to -14 without wind chill - 34 with wind chill with no problems...

Yeah Sitka. It's down, so it packs up much smaller compressed. My stand hunter stuff started to get ridiculousky heavy and bulky.

Nothing beats quality down for warmth, and packability... as long as it doesnt get wet... im guessing sitka is water proof...

It hasnt been that cold yet this year but i was planning on putting the down lining of the coat i mentioned over my minus33 base layers, then putting a tight under armor shirt over it to compress it so it isnt too bulky.. then a hoodie... ive tried it out already but it wasnt that cold so not a true test... but im guessing it will be toasty warm even in freezing temps...

I'm 5'7" and 180#. I have the large and they are pretty much perfect for me.

Hunt Terra maps 20% off through December 4th.

I'm buying a large map as a gift to the landowners that allow me to hunt. Although it is still rather expensive.

Might not help, but military gets 45% off First Lite on www.Experticity.com. They do discounts for other organizations/companies, you just have to see if you are a member of one of them, like if you are part of the boy scouts. They also have plenty of other brands, like vortex(normally 40% off, right now 50% and free shipping) and scentlok(35% off code). Just have to make an account and you are good to go. Depending on what brand, they have restrictions on how many of each product you can buy. Some stuff is better from amazon or if you find a good somewhere else.
