DIY Milkweed Holder?

I leave in pod, wrap a rubber band around to keep from opening all the way.

Some good ideas here. I’ve gone with the pocket of my harness, but it is not working out well and bunching up. Will look into these options.

I keep my floating cattail seeds in an old Hunter Specialties scent wafer canister. I would guess milk weed would fit in one of those also. Plus my floaters smell like dirt!

I use a pill bottle to carry the seeds. No holes in bottle just take off the lid and grab one or a couple.

I use a plastic chew can. Just cut a H shape in the lid and lifted the tabs so I can pull a few fibers out.

I have found that the closer I can keep the fluff to the way it comes out of the pod the better it floats. With that in mind I have started picking the pods just before the open up. Then put a small rubber band around the whole pod. Then just take the whole pod with you. Just pull a few out as needed. Works pretty well for me.

Then just take that pod, drill a small hole in the other end and put a small string or zip tie and connect to a clip or directly to pack, vest, anything.

I cut the fingers off rubber gloves and then a small x in the tip of the finger.
