Took my son out for youth season and he passed a 4pnt and said he would wait and see if one of the 8's would come out, but they didn't. Fast forward to opening day of gun and him and I got an invite back to my friends farm. We had 5 deer come in, 3 bucks and 2 does. I confirmed one was a shooter and he did the rest. By shooter I mean they have antler restrictions during the normal seasons, so my son was the shooter and I was armed with binos to count points. The shot was about 80yds and the 44 mag cva scout single shot barked. I handed him the knife and said go gut him jokingly. He headed over and the buck jumped up and charged him. He quickly put that knife in the buck before I could get to him.
He ended up getting an 8pnt, but not one of the ones on the camera. This one was bigger.
No he didn't actually get charged, I noticed it was pretty stiff by the time we gutted it and got the idea to try to stand it up and take some funny pics. Not a saddle hunt guys, but Im proud of him and wanted to share it with you guys.
