Ghillie Suit for bow hunting

Yes Marc Anthony. We both had it partly correct.

Correct. Such a drag too. Marc is a pretty nice guy - at least he was when I got my suits from him. I believe he is completely out of the business now - it’s been a number of years since we’ve spoken. Glad I have the two suits I have.

Huge fan of the sapper as well

I have one made by Red Rock. The sportsmans guide carries them for less than 50 dollars.

Which style Ghillie is that one? Woodland or something?

How big are you and how roomy is the suit? Can you wear it over bulky cold weather coat and bibs?

I actually have the Marc Anthony ghillie and it seldom leaves the tub. I much prefer to carry in the Kill Suit Sapper for ground hunting. I have had several deer pick up my movement, blow, stomp and stare at me - to date none have bolted... they casually eased up and walked off. I have slid an arrow through several does from the ground and had many shot opportunities at younger bucks - have not made the connection YET on a mature buck but keep getting closer and closer just a matter of time and aligning all the stars. The key to any ghillie from the ground is learning to SLOW everything down and move slowly at ALL times - it is vital to spot the deer before they see you and on the ground even a too quick turn of the head can catch unwanted attention. This takes an unbelievable amount of practice and forcing myself as I am a fast paced hard wired person.

Thanks Dave for the input. Do you find it difficult to crawl in the Sapper? I know some have said they ditched the pants (which a Sapper dosn't have) because they are crawling a lot.

Typically I am in a natural blind and i don't crawl in them. I know this, I would much rather crawl in a sapper then a traditional ghillie - we have far too many stickers, burs, etc...... and getting that mess out of a traditional ghillie I put right up there with getting a root canal. The kill suit will pick up stickers but it is far easier to remove them.

I'm 5'6" 180. This suit is a med/large. Yes, you could wear it over a coat and bibs. It's just a 3/4 length coat with about 5 snaps. It's simple to use. I leave it in it's little pack bag till I get to my setup and put it on.

Mine is plenty roomy for extreme cold weather gear. I have larger size in both the desert and woodland.

I'm sure for your certain situation this wouldn't work but what I rock is a sniper viper hood like this one. It is $45 on amazon then you buy separately the color yarn you want and you can attach it wherever you like. I love it cuz it packs up super small but still cover my whole upper body and head once full of the yarn. I don't need ghillie pants for the longer grass I hunt and they usually just snag on everything anyways. Hope this helps!!
