How many deer have you killed?

I wasn't trying to call you out. I was just saying I know what it's like to hunt less than ideal terrain but instead of letting the terrain dictate what I kill or do I just find ways to make it happen.
understood, and honestly 20 years ago I didn't consider it as much either. I'm still getting out there, but I am definitely slowing down a bit.

35 yrs old. Started hunting 22 yrs ago @13. Started bow hunting when I was 15. Have hunted in central and sw VA my whole life. Have always wished to fdo an out of state hunt but have never made it happen. Grew up eating a ton of venison and still do so have had the opportunity to to kill a lot of deer. Started out hunting brown its down mind set but thta has changed over the years. Believe the current total count is 148. Have shot quite a few more on damage control permits over the years but really have no idea how many. Would guess that number would double....

61, started when I could legally hunt in 1970 at age 12, 48 seasons.
Hunted only in Pa until 1995 then added Ohio and also drew twice for Iowa.
I'm somewhere around ~60 deer, I lost exact track about 15 years ago when my log book filled up and I didn't start a new one. Majority have been with a recurve. Shot several with a compound in the 1980s. Some more with guns (2 with .44 Super Blackhawk). Now I only hunt deer with my trad bow. 4 bucks elig for P&Y but none officially entered.

If you guys don't keep a journal I'd highly recommend starting one! My dad started me a journal when I killed my first and I have kept it up to date every year with details about each kill. I can look back through it and remember each hunt exactly. I'd never remember anything if I didn't keep that journal! lol. I have started one for my son and wife as well just to keep track of our success throughout the years. Fun to look back on from time to time!

I'm 45 years of age and started age 18. Lost count on deer but have shot 12 Pope and young and one deer over 180. Many a doe. I contribute 85% of my deer to a trophyline tree saddle. Hoping to find someone in Kentucky who has a mantis so that I can try it out. Congrats to everyone's success.

Roll tide. I like the ones that you can throw in the pickup bed one handed. 'Bout a 40 pounder? Lol
Roast 'em on a spit.

I started gun hunting as early as legal in MN. Got a deer/year or so for a few years. In high school (sports) and college (distance) schedules limited time available and probably hunted a weekend a year. also populations crashed plus people aged out and our group went from getting say 4-8 deer for 8-10 guys to 1-3 deer with 4-8 guys. Grad school was worse as I ended up in a field where *the* main conference of the year is typically at the end of MN gun season. And the couple of weeks previous were pretty much always a scramble to make things work. Then I went to work for a company in the same field...stuck at the same conference. I had a pretty long dry spell. Didn't hunt much, missed a couple of chances, probably had a 15-20 year gap. Finally got into archery last couple of years - the expanded season is a huge game-changer - and between my wife and I we aim to put 2-3ish deer in the freezer and the local population supports that - she got her first this past season which was super awesome.

48 years old, from southern Illinois lived and hunted here my whole life(have killed deer in KY, MO and WY), started hunting around 12 got my first one at age 15. Been fortunate enough to hunt some great farms that needed doe control, not sure on a total but around 100 but since my kids started hunting I havn't killed many. They get enough for the meat we need so I have mainly buck hunted for the last 10 or so years.

Age:
38

Started:
Shot my first deer at 10, first buck at 13.

# seasons:
28 but, from about age 20-32 yrs old, I only hunted the first weekend of rifle and maybe a day in muzzleloader. College and then babies kept me out of the woods. The last several years has been a mix of hunting for myself and trying to get my kids deer.

Area you hunt:
Mountains of Western MD, mostly heavy pressured private and public.

Deer killed:
I am going to guess somewhere between 20-25 with the most of them coming between the ages of 13 and 18. I may or may not have grown up in a family where it was common practice for dad's, uncles and grandfathers to check in a deer killed by a kid, so that the kid could keep hunting. All deer where checked in but, many adults would hang up there guns early to keep a kid in the woods. This 'in theory' allowed for 3 and 4 deer per rifle season at times.

I started deer hunting when I was 12 years old and have put in 27 seasons. I only hunted gun season until I was in college, but then began bow and muzzleloader hunting as well. Ohio private and public land is all I've experienced hunting. I've harvested 47 deer so far. I don't "keep score" but I do have a journal entry for each deer taken and the main details of the hunt. I write down the date, who I was with, the property and name of the stand etc. This is the only reason I know how many I've taken. I highly encourage some type of journal to keep track of your harvests and other important hunts. It's neat to look back and remember the adventure and fond memories with family and hunting buddies. This year will be my first season in a saddle (assuming I ever get my tethrd order) and I'm excited to add to my harvests. Thanks for all fun discussions on here!

How old you are: 32

When you started: 14

How many seasons: 18

Where you're from/where you generally hunt: from south Alabama, hunted mostly Alabama with some decent time spent in LA.

And how many deer you've kilt!: probably 30, but not one real stud of a deer yet. Spent a good bit of time hunting good properties where I’ve been forced to pass deer that I’d love to shoot due to age.

Where are you based out of? I'm down in Stockton, AL.

Lets see 61years old. 40 years deer hunting. Some years none and some 6 so on average 2 per year that would be around 80+

At 64 yoa. Ive hunted about 46 yrs. Some yrs I ate the tags but lots of yrs I hunted multiple counties and could kill up to 6. I'm guessing well over 50, most w/the recurve and flintlock

Well dang! I got a mind like a steel sieve I reckon!

You ever get around to hunting Jacinto this year? It was a pretty good year, all the flooding pushed the pigs on that parcel.
