Keeping Powder Dry

They have little single finger latex gloves at the drs. They look like mini condoms. Work awesome over end of barrel when raining.

Since I'm a real saddle hunter, I like to find multiple uses for all of my gear whenever possible. Therefore, I just use my regular condoms on the barrel of my muzzleloader. They are a little snug on the barrel but work awesome because I can roll them all the way down and they don't cover up my front sight. Before you ask, it IS a .50 cal, I'm a real man......

I find its really not finicky stuff with a 209a primer & right beech plug. Have left loaded a week & then killed deer no problem. Wonder what happened? Go with what works for ya,, I would. Mike

My dad left his Encore loaded for TWO YEARS with BH209 and he just shot it this week. Fired no problem and hit exactly where he was aiming. I wouldn’t suggest doing that but I thought it was pretty cool. I love the stuff myself!

Could have been a bad batch that I had but like I said at the range never an issue, but two years in a row in the woods failures. As I said the first time I'm sure it is good stuff just not for me. 777 pellets work just fine. i agree go with what works for you.

Those are called finger cots. They are also used in the electronics assembly industry. I have used them on my muzzleloaders and they work perfectly.

On abother note just decided to clear my hodgen pyrodex pellets out of the barrel after being in their 3 years... went bang first shot. I was a little off 4" high and 4 left @ 125yrds offhand. But hey, it went bang!

On my Remington 700ML I put a black balloon over the end of the muzzle. I have used electric tape in the past. In the last 30 yrs of muzzleload hunting I have had one #11 percussion cap that did not go off. That happened 20+ yrs ago, in the middle of a freezing rain storm. I purchased the 209 conversion kit for the 700, as soon as they became available. I have hunted in all kinds of nasty weather, with no further problems.
