Count me out. Decided to go with Climb Right Ultralight Aluminum.

Seems like it. I think we'd be better off going with the Geckos, but the majority rules.

Carbon fiber, ultralight, and available in plenty of time to practice. The Kiwis won't be ready until September at the earliest.

My set of Geckos weigh 3.3 lbs fully rigged out and camo'd with stealth strips.

Never heard of them can you link me to them? I like availability

Looked up the geckos. They look good too. That 599$ I seen didn't look good though haha

Geckos for $400 US? In a group buy would be comparable to kiwis

I'm out on the Geckos. Reasons:

1.) Historically the Kiwis have been stronger and stiffer than the Geckos. The differences have likely diminished in the recent Gecko redesign but Kiwi has always been all about innovation. Sound like a familiar competition?

2.) The Kiwis are entirely modular. You buy the components you want or need. Sound familiar? Lol. The strap is a modular component. It isn't glued and riveted to the cup. As a result, unlike the Geckos, you don't need to cut and sew to the existing strap on the Kiwis to get them saddle ready. You just swap out the strap.

3.) There is a good chance the Kiwis will be ounces lighter. The K1s were 2.95 lbs. I expect the same or an improvement in weight:strength. Most of this weight savings is with the titanium spurs. Note that these Titanium spurs are compatible with the Geckos if you want to lighten up your Geckos but they will cost you about $140 USD + S/H.

Good reasons to wait.

You’ve already got a set of the geckos, so why would you want to get another set rather than waiting for the kiwis?

I’m fine either way y’all decide to go.

Thanks for the breakdown, seems like waiting for the kiwis is best for me as well.

Another reason is Kiwi sounds cooler than Gecko.

I’m willing to wait. Probably never have a chance at a deal this good ever again.
