Kiwi Klimbers ultralight carbon spurs group buy

I'm out on the Geckos. Reasons:

1.) Historically the Kiwis have been stronger and stiffer than the Geckos. The differences have likely diminished in the recent Gecko redesign but Kiwi has always been all about innovation. Sound like a familiar competition?

2.) The Kiwis are entirely modular. You buy the components you want or need. Sound familiar? Lol. The strap is a modular component. It isn't glued and riveted to the cup. As a result, unlike the Geckos, you don't need to cut and sew to the existing strap on the Kiwis to get them saddle ready. You just swap out the strap.

3.) There is a good chance the Kiwis will be ounces lighter. The K1s were 2.95 lbs. I expect the same or an improvement in weight:strength. Most of this weight savings is with the titanium spurs. Note that these Titanium spurs are compatible with the Geckos if you want to lighten up your Geckos but they will cost you about $140 USD + S/H.

Well tell them to hurry up! Sept!!! Pwaaaaaaa........

I'm in on kiwis however are we going to have to modify them right from brand new to make them work for saddle hunting?

That goes with any spur but the kiwi mods will be easy. I don't know of a spur that is hunting ready

Anyone have a clue how many pairs of KiwiKlimbers this group has committed to?
@g2outdoors
A lot. He may run out of his production run just on this group.

I’m out on the Kiwis for now. Maybe. Lol. I snagged a pair of Geckos on eBay for a heck of a good deal and couldn’t pass them up.

How much did you pay for them?

I’m gonna start smart (for me) too and if I need to upgrade in the future so be it. The aluminum climb rites are a good middle to better than middle ground - I know they work amazingly well and G2 was helpful with my thought process to decide to start there.

My Climbrites worked great for me and I regret selling them lol

Climbrites were 4.25lbs, Geckos are 2.60.
You also have the option of buying the titanium hooks from Kiwi and pushing the weight down even further ;) they are compatible with Geckos
