20 degrees, and nothing so far. That would be 3 sits straight without seeing anything move in this cold. I think the deer are holding out for warmer weather.

I'll probably be tossed from the forum but there's nothing wrong with a comfortable climber.
I kinda want to try one, not so much for comfort but for speed, lately I've only been hunting new areas and that means XOP hand climber, some trees are a breeze and some are not, but I think even the good ones are pretty slow compared to a good climber.

Anyway it's probably because I don't have one lol

Hey guys everyone chill out here! Lol

We can't be so closed minded as to think that there are no merits in other hunting methods. Obviously we're all here because we all share the passion for saddle hunting.

All kidding aside, Ernie didn't you kill a deer out of a hang on thus year?

LMAO

Lol it's even worse than that. Last year the only deer I killed was a 10pt in a ladder stand. Contributing a big goose egg to my team.

Then this year I try and try to kill something in my saddle and nothing. I sit one night in a ladder and BAM! 8 pointer on the ground.

I thought for sure I was going to give my team another goose egg. But was able to clean up later and picked up two does, and a buck from the saddle to redeem myself.

My API grand slam is crazy comfortable. If I wasn't going far, and knew the woods had plenty of tall, straight, limbless trees, I'd consider taking it for a really long sit.

Heck, this morning was so cold I sat in a box! The heater didn’t even work. Apparently the Mr heater buddy can freeze up when it’s cold outside.

Dang, Ernie with that kind of action from a ladder stand, I don't know if I'd hunt from anything else, lol!

I haven't had a really long hike all season, urban archery will do that to you, comfort hasn't really been an issue, I really like being able to swing around, I guess I just need to preset every tree for SRT!

Sat tonight off a marsh point and had i think was a buck with no horns come from tip of point or from the brush off the point out in marsh. The deer was really big bodied. He walked to 20 yards of me and laid down all night I couldnt get a cam on him he bedded just perfect behind a tree
And he laid there the whole time. I had to shake a branch to get him up so i could leave it was pitch black

Great shot @hambone ! Way to get it on video. This is some thing I need to work on.

I'm using an ATN Shot Trak HD camera on this hunt which is mounted on my crossbow. It's small and easy to use. Takes HD with sound and has fixed 5x magnification. You film whatever your pointing the bow at. Does a good job and was less than $100 when I got it a few years ago.

I just picked up a muddy pro arm w a manfrotto head for $100. Bulky but I think it will be better than what I had this year.
