This is an amsteel 3 step aider girth hitched onto a rapid rail.
Would give me 8 feet in one move.

The question is: Is it safe to use amsteel like that?

Option 2:
Amsteel over the stand off. It takes the weight.

Orange cord just keeps it from sliding.

It doesn’t slide without the cord but why mess around more than I need to.

what about redoing the buries on the loops and routing it like this blue line so that it hangs just outside the rails to stay open and theres no extra cordage involved?

Maybe. That’s a skill I’ll have to learn first.
Not sure if I’ll take the time this year

it's not on overly complicated process to do, there are lots of youtube videos showing how to do a buried locked brummel splice. a pair of knitting needles and some wire to fish your bury through with and you can have it done in no time. I think weldabeast is right about adding something to prevent premature wear on the loop
