Muddy Pro Sticks

just got my first set of used muddys to frakenstein parts with my LW stick....My stuff is in parts but looking at it, you guys are just talking about that top cam cleat bolt, with the weird pressed in nut?
Yeah muddy should have simply staggered them different. That stack hole for the allen head should be below the cam cleat, instead of above....then ya don't need that odd nut. Drill a new "stack" hole and add a longer bolt/regular nut through the top cam cleat

I just watche the wid edge step aider video , so I'm gathering you use the aider to adjust the loop height ,in the aider . I will look at the set up more
Yes, the loop part is fixed but the position on the rope is what moves with the ascender. You can put your foot in and use the ascender to hike your foot higher than you can normally raise it.

I found a set for sale at a local hunting store, my lone wolfs could use replacing, so I decided to give the muddy’s a try.
I have never seen such terrible workmanship on a product that a customer is using which could put their life in limbo!
The first stick I put together, the studs that run though for everything to bolt onto, just started to freely spin when any tightening pressure got put on them, then the next stick had a nut gone off of the step section, luckily it had fallen off in the box. Then the step section would not even fit onto the piece of square tubing! I was done after that, I took them back to the store and will wait on some helium’s or Dan’s sticks.
I was going to buy a set of Muddy pro sticks but after hearing about how bad the workmanship is on the steps I'll stick with the WildEdge steps and lonewolf sticks . Might buy a set of helium sticks .

I am surprised I have never had a problem with muddy sticks. I have had several sets and not been disappointed yet

I had one step that wouldn’t even go over the 1” tubing. One step had nuts fallen off in the box, and when I put them back on an tightened down enough to get it threaded all the way, you couldn’t hardly unfold the steps. Maybe I got a bad set or something, but after getting something that junky, I wasn’t climbing with them. I got a set of heliums and am very impressed with them.

I hated that I got that impression, because after reading posts from so many of you all, I really wanted to make them work. I liked the compactness of them. Oh well, I guess everything happens for a reason. If I had have had good luck with them, I would’ve ended up with a set of them and the heliums I got for bday.
