New Re-designed Windwalker Treestand

I know this has been touched on already but it just dawned on me while looking at these photos; im almost certain the early big game stands had a very similar setup, with basically the same buckle IIRC. I want to say that in the end, i loved the way that strap worked. This has been atleast 15yrs ago so dont quote me but i think the strap was permanently attached, as is the windwalker, which made it VERY easy. Easier than your standard LW style strap because it could be done easily with one hand.

Would i be incorrect to assume those of your who have this stand have come to like the 2in strap setup?? Should be a very stable stand...

I have had windwalkers wtih the orginal 2" strap as well as replaced them with an ameristep cam/hook 1" strap(same sonfiguration as original). Both worked great and I saw no difference in stability. I found the ameristep hook/cam easier to release at the end of a hunt though.
 
My seat does make some noise when you sit on it and wiggle around... it comes from the foam. I'm not too worried about it at the present time, but may require a mod.

I never had foam in the front of mine and it never bothered me, I"d give that a try...
 
I got mine this afternoon. I can’t wait to put it on the tree in the morning. The way the seat is padded when you fold it up it is going to work really good with my saddle.

Yea, the seat (when folded up) was the perfect height for a knee pad.

Was able to get out today and do some tinkering & shooting. Here are some pictures of the set up I’m going to use for next season if anyone is contemplating buying one of these stands.

I’ll be using it as a hybrid set up.

I like the strap that came on my windwalker from treehopper. When Mark sends out the new straps that are like the originals I think I may stay with the one I have. Is everyone else still liking the strap that came on it?

Mark told me when I bought my stand that everyone that bought one would be getting the original strap or something similar in April or May.

Better hope not. My original back in the late 80's came with a freakin log chain to hang the stand.

I’m really not sure.
When I ordered, I told them I didn’t care about any colors and that’s what I got. I assume all the seats are padded all the way through, but this one is for sure.

Dang. I had no idea about the price increase. Around a 30-40% increase. Kind of takes away the appeal of that stand.

That’s a bummer, but with the CPI & Inflation where it’s at as well as the issues with sourcing products/components, I’m not shocked.
