Ive seen guys make slings for sticks and carry them that way...interested in some of those options and how they worked out. I have 3 full size lone wolf sticks that i normally attach to pack when i use them but they never seem to carry well on the pack as far as weight.

Packing climbing sticks without backpack

I usually one stick, but I also have OG Lone Wolf's and the Skeletors. I prefer sticks when it is raining, or when I am in an area with trees covered in vines. I frequently use a simple cheap bow sling (I think the one below, like $9) with the buckles. The skeletors, I climb with the sling attached to the top stick and deploy as I go. A Voile strap keeps the sticks tight together until at the tree.
Depends on my walk in if I am using my sticks. Last night I literally carried them in my hands using a titan strap. I played around with the idea of a sling like mentioned above for short walks as well.
I use 3 of the original Muddy Pro sticks with 3 fixed steps that are 32" long. I attach them to my Trophyline Mission platform with 2 cinch straps. This is lighter than the backpack setup that I was using previously. Any extra gear is carried in a small Cabelas gear bag. I'm using a couple of Butler Creek rifle slings for pack straps and they work great!

Carrying Hawk Heliums - Alternate Method
I've seen this question asked a lot..."How do you carry your sticks?" What I haven't seen is a picture similar to how I carried mine last year before I started One-Sticking. I would stack 3 Heliums on top of one another, and bind them together with two cheap Wally World camping section lash...

Take a climbing daisy chain and sling it around using girth hitches.
Or use your tether/linesman for an adjustable sling.
