Wow I missed this thread, lots of cool boats guys. I bought a flat bottom thinking I could hunt some rivers or lakes, but ive yet to cyber scout something that seems an advantage to access vs just walking. Im kinda bummed, as it seems like another tool that would add to the adventure.

Do have a motor on it? I have a 12 foot aluminum boat that I just need a motor for. I actually have a few spots I scouted where I can use it and it will save me a lot of time and work over paddling the kayak. Doesn't matter this year cause a lot of the water bodies are down so far that I couldn't use them anyway due to drought conditions.

Took the pro angler out today for the first real trip. This thing is the bees knees. The mirage drive is CRAZY FAST! The boat is stable, easy to maneuver, and holds anything I can fit inside. I'm blown away.

We caught a few fish and were followed around most of the day by an 8 footer my daughter named "Fred".

Yes it has a motor and honestly maybe its a bit too big for the shallow stuff. With all the road access, there just doesn't appear to be anything that screams advantage boat.

Just googled that mirage drive, sweet! Doesn't look ideal for beaching, but you can carry a paddle for that.

You're right. You want to make sure you pull the mirage drive out before you beach it.

I got a killer deal too. I'm not sure the guy knew how strong the resale market was. It Came with a Lowrance elite pre-wired w/battery, hobie cart, stand up rail, a bunch of h-rail rod holders, upgraded paddles, a sail, and a few other things.

I held out for months waiting for the right boat and I got lucky on this one. Couldn't be happier.

Holding out is why I don't have the exact same boat. I test road one and loved it and the Mirage drive. I have a bunch of details of exactly how I want to mod based on lots of research. I sold a bunch of useless old stuff lying around to raise the $3K so that my wife couldn't say a word about it... And I'm still sitting on the money since last Spring.
Let me know when Red is heading that way. Then I will just buy a new one instead of sitting on the sidelines waiting for a deal. It will be the motivation and excuse that I need.

I already have a pedal kayak from Native, but the Perception Pescador Pilot 120 Pedal Drive Kayak looks good. It won't be coming out till January, but for $1800, it looks very capable.

How's the fishing down there is february/march? That could be just what we need at the end of a long winter up here.
