PigMageddon 2017

Honestly, she was so close I was worried she might charge because of the piglets. I have very mixed feelings about shooting a mother... I wouldn't do it normally. But it happened so fast, I just reacted.

@IkemanTX thx for posting the kill zone graphics. That changed my aim point on pig #2 and he didn't take a single step. It was a quick clean kill.

When it comes to pigs, I ease up my "sportsman" requirements. Believe it or not, if that piglet is over a few weeks old, it'll make it on its own. Also, they have reached vermin status down here in Texas. The state is actually funding research for a swine specific poison that coagulates their blood in their veins.

The 3 hundo to the dome from 10 steps away stopped her quickly.

Seriously, a 300 mag to the dome? Was there much skill left? LOL

No problem. Made a big difference for me.

I agree. They are vermin here too. But it's still tough.

That was the first one. No skill there... It's hard to miss from less than 10 yards.

The second one was freehand on a moving target at 40ish yards. Not a tough shot, but I did move my aim point because of your post.

I'm excited! My brother, buddy, and I are locked in and good to go.

Oops, meant to write skull* a 300 to the dome doesn't leave much :)

I would be all in for the pig harvesting hunting trip. If only I had doctors clearance, I will be lucky to hunt next year. Can't wait to read more of the excitement all of you bring as the hunt nears and then see the results from that hunt. Hunt safe!

G2 Is a muzzleloader allowed in the small game area? I'm not sure about Stewart but a muzzleloader is a legal small game weapon in GA. I don't think I will go that route but a good muzzleloader is a much better choice on hogs than a rim fire

I just read over the sop. It states that contrary to state law muzzleloaders are not considered small game weapons on fs/haa. Oh well it was worth checking into.

I'll go ahead and commit. It will be me plus my ten year old if no one objects. Will only be hunting Saturday and Sunday. I will most likely camp Friday and Saturday nights. I will probably hunt on the ground but will still bring my stuff and would like to check out everyones setups also.

I can't be there this year but I hope there is an event next year.
