Poor man's pacseat

Here is today's creation. Has independent shoulder straps (doesn't rely on the backpack straps), folds flat for the walk in, and sits fairly low when opened (~8" to the seat). Straps are oriented so that the frame functions as a load bearing shelf.

The problem I'm having is standing up once the shelf is loaded with 50lbs.

Ok now your taking the TV tray Your a brave man! LoL love it bro your a genius

larry chair? seems too easy- never heard of one until reading about the pack seat.
RIP Lawn Chair Larry (April 19, 1949 – October 6, 1993). “A man can’t just sit around.”
We pay homage to him every year on the day after his birthday by getting as high as we can....:sunglasses:
If you don't know who Larry is i strongly advise to read his story. He was a trailblazer for ordinary men doing extraordinarily dumb things.

Unexpected but welcomed side effect of the PVC connections on the back of the towel chair... they make a great place to build a backdrop/cover where one may not already exist. Just insert branches into the 1" pipe and then lay additional branches across. Voila!

May end up replacing the standard couplers with 45s so branches are a bit more upright. Using 45s may actually increase strength when in meat packing frame mode as well.

Give the man time he will have it all deck out. Hell it’s prolly drying right now waiting for the big reveal

@JSEXTON23 was kind enough to donate some mesh to the cause. Replaced the towel seat with it. Turned out to be a real good bit of fabric. Just the right amount of give/sag. Thanks buddy!

Plenty left for others who are doing there own uber-awesome card table chair conversion. Cmon, don't be shy. ;) Speak up and I'll send you some!

Not to take away from Mr. Beards’ cool pac -Ghillie hood- back brace- tether seat. Which thread is this again?
I did pick up a “versatile tree seat” 2.0 I posted earlier here. It has some potential. It’s been nice to practice shooting recurves from.
7 lbs @$118 to my door.($95 plus flat rate)
USA made by another dude in GA
If you are really handy with EMT conduit I imagine a DIY version is possible.

That thing looks awesome. No "freestanding" mode I take it?

Correct. Not“freestanding”. Unless you were to sit on the backrest and lean back on the seat like a “turkey lounger”
I plan to sit with / leaning on back cover primarily
