Problem with new Treehopper Drill

Anyone know when the new drill with the folding handle and texture will be available?
Just to be clear...the texture is on the bit sheath, not the handle. I believe that is something Mark is ready to include. I spoke with him today about the texture and gave him my opinion of how awesome it is.
Go back and watch @PJC video of the new bit. The drill in his vid has the smooth sheath. Notice his hand slips off the sheath a few times. The smooth sheath also requires more finger strength to grip it, which adds up when boring multiple holes. The new textured sheath is way better than the prior smooth one.

The folding handle is in the works. They ain't cheap. Mark is working on finding them for the lowest price and will have no (or little) mark-up over what he will pay for them...understand that they WILL cost more than the standard handle, but they will be sold very close to "cost".

I'm just curious with all this attention on drills...
How many guys are using an EZKUT? Do you like them and how many guys have done a comparison to the Treehopper?

There is either another thread on it or it has been discussed earlier in this thread. See @Nutterbuster recent video.

The EZ-Kut works, but is a far cry from the original treehopper. It is made of a thin wall pipe which bends over time. After 3 or 4 seasons of hard use, my EZ-Kut main body definitely needs to be replaced. I doubt that will ever be an issue with the treehopper, being solid as it is.

I used an ezkut all season and really loved using bolts. The EZKUTdrill works but with all the attention on the tree hopper and positive reviews I can’t wait to get my hands on one. The tapered bit and soild build are what interest me most. The folding handle is a bonus!

I remember that it has come up from thread to thread and post to post. I got lazy and didn't feel like searching thru the hundreds of posts in several threads on guys opinions...just thought I would ask the current opinions.

Ezcut bit is quite nice. The body is poor quality in my opinion. Loud, flexes, bits loosen up over time. The old treehopper I have blew it out of the watwr. Glad the bit issue has been resolved with the new one. It now cuts faster and easier than the ez, and overall is a mich higher quality, with a much better thought out body.

I drilled about ten trees last fall with the ez cut. It’s really nice to just leave the bolts for the duration of the season. I did get enough screw in steps for about four trees on closeout cheaper than bolts I’m also using this year. I also ordered some titanium bolts. My ezcut is pretty quiet. I would like to try the treehopper drill. If all holes are as easy to remove the drill from as nutterbusters video I wouldn’t mind giving the bolt method a shot as a run and gun setup.

Nutterbuster’s video is just a day ago on this thread. He shows the difference between them pretty well.

also consider the bolts permanent at that point. once they grow in they are near impossible to get out.

I had a different experience this past season. I found a red oak tree that I had left a bolt in for three seasons. I was surprised how easy that I removed it with a pair of vice grips. I clamped the vice grips on it..... did a couple of back & forth twist and pulled it out with ease.

that is awesome. every once and a while I come across a grown in set on public land. i try to get them out but rarely do. If they are lag bolts they come out easy. otherwise very hard. i think the wood around the thread develops rot which diminishes grip. Add some swell and its nearly impossible to remove here.

Has anyone had contact with Tree hopper this week? I placed an order with them for my drill last weekend. Received no notification of my order other than a paypal receipt. I emailed them two days ago to inquire if my order actually went thru, and have heard nothing. Curious if I am doing something wrong or have the wrong contact info. Contacted them thru the website.

Mine was same as you, just the Paypal receipt. I never got a shipping notice or anything. If you email them via the contact us page on their site, make sure you put your email address in the comments.

I understand, but why dont you give me a break? I am not even sure my order went thru, and I am unable to find out for certain.

I really dont like my money floating around in cyberspace, without knowing where, or if it went.

I ask a simple question, was not disrespectful or making disparaging comments, and that is your response to me.

Nice

Dude, I wasn't being disrespectful towards you. And I wasnt responding only to you. Seems there was a 3rd post about it that I no longer see...must have been deleted after my last post. I was just conveying that he is swamped right now and to have a little patience.
Your money isn't in cyberspace. You said you got a notice from paypal that your payment went thru.
I will post direct contact info later this morning.
