Quietkat vs Bakcou

And thats exactly why I prefer lunacycle. They basically take a high end bicycle and convert it to an ebike. Their chain rings and battery packs are the best on the market imo.

Biktrix also does the same thing essentially. The only real difference is that Biktrix uses cheaper bicycles but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. All the other parts they use appear to be quality.

Tbh if I could do it all over id get the x1 enduro with the 2000watt controller and their 30 tooth chain ring. With that setup you'd have a 60 pound ebike thats fully suspended on a carbon fiber frame with enough torque to pull a car sideways.

I haven't seen another ebike with those specs anywhere. Especially at a $3500 price.

And as to the original question. It will climb a hill and will it pull hunting stuff or a deer up a hill.

Whatever you get you should have fat tires on a very steep grade so you don’t spin out in wet or snowy ground.

That enduro looks like a great bike. But not for hunting. A Biktrix ultra duo. Has three times the battery watts and range. It has 60 percent more torque for pulling and climbing

The enduro is lighter and faster with upgrades and has better suspension. Perfect for trails but not perfect for hunting.
The enduro has a fantastic frame and superior gearing but inferior battery and a controller that pushes the limits of the motor, narrower tires, superior suspension
Compared to the Biktrix ultra duo. The enduro for trail riding. The ultra duo for hunting and trails

You have a couple things wrong in here.

First the enduro makes 95nm of torque before you swap out the chain ring for the 30 tooth and after that it'll be making over 100nm.

Secondly, slipping in snow isn't determined by tire size but more so by lack of torque sensor and non cold weather specific tires.

Now, if you're talking about sinking in the snow you'd be correct about the larger tires offering an advantage but, its only a 1 inch difference between the two, and that extra 60 or so pounds of weight would 100% offset that.

The enduro would be a better hunting rig without a doubt. Trying to lug around a 110 pound bicycle in dense woods were you’ll occasionally be forced to lift it over logs just isn't something that I would want. But that's just my opinion.

I think the Biktrix and the Bakcou are great hunting bikes. I am looking at getting a mid-drive to replace my hub drive hunting bike . My hub drive has upgrades and climbs hills that my friends 1000 watt Rambo.

It is not quite 110 pounds and the batteries weigh 20 pounds and the tires and rims are likely adding 15 pounds but it has three times the range. It is heavy and could be lighter. The Luna motor is half the weight too. The Biktrix does put out 150 nm of torque. Still more than the Luna. The Luna is a great bike and likely no longer available at the price you mentioned.
Some full suspension bikes have no way of attaching a rack or trailer. Maybe it does.
I do think the Luna is a fine bike

The batteries triple the range on ultra duo

You're right about the range. I'm not entirely sure where I would ever need 50 miles of battery life (beach maybe?) but it would be nice to have.

You kill batteries fast on large hills minimal peddling pulling a deer using 2000 w. That
Bike you like will die in 30 minutes at max use

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume those of you using Ebikes are doing so because quads are not allowed? And if yes any chance the state or federal F& G agencies might ban their use?
The state hunting areas in my state while small VS the massive tracts west of the Mississippi some are decent sized at 7k-10k+ acres and you can not even use a standard peddle powered bike on them.
When my buddy hunted a particular unit ML elk in NM peddle powered bikes and horses were allowed but no form of motorized off roading was permitted but this also pre-dated Ebikes some 19 years ago.
How Ebike friendly are most out west states in the units that currently don't allow most or all other forms of off roading with motorized vehicles?

I actually own the khs500 and I have never had any battery issues. Although I am in fairly good shape and almost never rely on throttle alone.

I can't offer any information about rules and regulations regarding western states but here in NC they don't mind. Most of the gameland are posted for no motorized vehicles but the local warden told me that he wouldn't stop anybody using ebikes.

I would agree, that is true unless you go up a 30 % grade for a significant period of time drawing max amps, as the original question stated. I have killed my battery on my old ebike using max watts in difficult situation. Range depends on hills, terrain, weight pulled or carried, winds, aerodynamic riding, pas level, and peddling. Consistent peddling and using the gears on low motor use range goes up dramatically. Not typical in many hunting situations

I have a hub drive too. Several years old. I am going with Biktrix.
Lots of good options though including Luna. I like the watt wagon too. More money than I want to spend. Another one that looks interesting is ecells super monarch. It is two 750 watt hub drives and AWD. 150 plus nm of torque. Tons of battery. But it is a hub drive.

I have to ask, why do you want a mid drive if your hub drive is climbing hills that well? I was debating going the same route as you as it seems more economical, so I was curious of the downsides that would make you want to upgrade?

I have a bad back and I'm really looking at a Bakcou step through. It's really hard for me to get on my bike and I would like a Ultra Mid-drive with a torque sensor.

I did some upgrades on my hub drive. One was a new bigger controller and a high torque 750 watt motor.

Biktrix makes a step thru or step over with a 17 or 19 inch frame

It not a 1000 watt Ultra Mid-drive and it doesn't have a torque sensor. It's a 750 watt motor no torque sensor. If I was going that route I get the Bolton 1000 watt HD mid-drive step thru.

Biktrix makes about 20 different bikes in the duo alone, with more than a hundred different combinations of frames, colours, motor and batteries and forks and accessory combinations. The HDDuo and the ultra duo come with 750/1000/1500 watt motors mid and hub drive and in various colours including no camo with step over or step thru frames in 17 or 19 inch frames and up to 52 v 21 amp batteries and even dual batteries if you wish. I am not selling them. I don’t even have mine yet. I have a 5 year old Norco.
