I want to start sewing some projects and maybe a saddle. I’ve got a singer 4411 I was curious if it’s good enough to accomplish this and if I need anything (thread or whatever else) to get started sewing heavy duty stuff?

I don't have first hand knowledge of that machine. Search "Singer heavy duty" and you will see some folks using that machine and the 4452, which I believe is pretty similar.

It will likely do a lot of your projects. But as you increase layers you may find yourself having to turn the wheel by hand. Or get creative with your design to limit number of layers sewn at a time.

Needle and thread info can be found in the sewing resources thread. https://saddlehunter.com/community/index.php?threads/sewing-resources-and-information.6100/

Hopefully someone with direct experience with that machine will chime in and give more machine specific info. But you've already got the machine. Just start playing with it!

Thank you! I sewed a roll up pouch for my ropes already with it. It seems quite robust with the 110/18 needle.
