Tasco trail camera footage

interesting.... I wonder if our walmart has them for 22. Online they are still 28....

What kind of battery life are you getting on video mode?

We put out from mid to late july and pull the card and change batteries in November right before the orange army invades.

Thanks for the info. I am looking for some cams to drop off and let bake for 6 months or so and wondering if these will fit the bill on photo mode and it sounds like they will. I am subbed on youtube so I'll be keeping an eye out for any updates

Edit: I am curious how you choose to angle your 1-stick high cameras downwards, and if you feel the high placement has any impact on detection

I run mine about ten feet up and angle them to where I feel deer will pass. Yes the downward angle reduces the trigger and picture area of the cam but I'm ok with that knowing my cam is that much harder for both game and humans to notice it's presence.

I go 1 sometimes i do go two sticks depending on how much the area is pressured.
i definitely see a difference in the deer not detecting the cameras the higher i place them.
i hunt high pressured small pieces of public so the deer are pretty up on where most humans are gonna be snd most of all come where humans usualy come from.
So i really consider all of that to where im going to place and what its going to monitor.
Im no expert but it really does work snd we have learned quite a bit from cameras.
example would be a high human traffic area is gonna probably be pretty high setup (2) sticks pointing downwards torward a target area. We setup Mostly on ditches, creeks, or some sort of transition crossing with heavy trails. I will say one thing we are learning how much more a licking branch is visited compared to scrapes.
actually think the branch is more important to find than the scrape.
location is of course importance forday time visits.
these tascos are so far definitely good enough for my budget they work good.

For 20$ if they last one season to me that isn’t too bad. Being able to last two seasons at 20$ is definitely worth it to me. Haven’t used these yet but I maybe I’ll give them a try.

Thats good info, I guess what I am asking is: how to you physically orient the lens of the camera downwards? Are you using a tree bracket? Stick jammed behind the top? Wondering how youre pointing your cams and making sure the angle is right up the tree

Run good batteries in them and they'll last you a long time. I've had all of mine over a year now my first two almost two years and they are running great still. I do not see any functionality diminishing at all and we get all the weather and temperature extremes you can think of here. I'm close to Buffalo NY.

I may have to pick one or two up. I've had one of their other models for like two season but just haven't gotten around to putting it out. I like that it has video. Can't beat the price even at the full price of $28.

BEWARE OF SD CARD PRICING!!

The electronics section has the cards above for $7.28 each while the aisle in the sporting goods section where the trail cams are located has the 32GB card for $17.88! Check before you buy...

I usually buy my SD cards on ebay. Some rock bottom pricing on there if you catch it right

So I’ve been running a couple of the tascos this summer and I’m having a weird issue with the SD cards uploading pics.
I use an iPad for most of my trail cam photos and typically have uploaded them from other brand cameras(34 in total) just fine. However, with tascos there is no thumbnail image to view and the image is not even visible until I import it. Even when imported there’s no visible thumbnail. Moreover, there’s no time or date and it looks as if the image is zoomed way in when I finally do get to view it.

any of tasco users else experience this or something similar?

I did run into a similar issue when i ran an off brand ssd card. I actually tested this and for some reason my apple software will not read certain brand cards. I think i had 3-4 of these cards and they were in several different brand cameras including a Tasco.
all had issues and i just threw them out.
i doubt its just the tasco camera.
i try to run a error diagnostics check and format on every card i put out.
it seem to work.
some ssd cards are just trash.
just like anything else. Just like these cameras. Some will br goid and some will br problems. Me? I have had minimal issues with my tascos and so far love them snd reallylove the prices for them lol.
another brand we used last winter was wildgame innovations terra scout.
worked great.
keep us posted on this thread as i will in your progress throughout the year.

@Robert loper thanks for the advice on the cards. I did some experimenting. I was using Sandisk 32gb cards in the tascos. I just tried several other cards in the tascos as well and got the same result. I then tried all these cards in a cheap Muddy cam and they all allowed for visible thumbnails when connected to the iPad. Beats me??

when connected with a laptop all cards perform as normal
