Team 10

I have a few small hunts planned this year. I am from western PA, going to split the rut and hunt PA a few days and also NY a few days. I also have a 6 day hunt planned in the upper peninsula but only going after grouse and squirrels with the dog, my wife and 1.5 year old and can’t convince myself to take my bow. I will be heavily reliant on the rut for my bucks but should be able to put a few doe in the freezer before then.

Hey all, I'm in Maryland just north of DC. Currently getting rained/winded out of the first two days of my attempt at hunting Alaska with my brother, and archery is already open back home so looking forward to getting after it asap when I get home. I still consider myself a relatively inexperienced hunter and plan to shoot anything legal this year. If that includes a big buck all the better. Let's gooooo team 10. Someone needs to make us a team avatar, I have Photoshop but very limited skills. Who want to take a crack at it?

Here’s something very basic but a placeholder till we can get something better

South Alabama and we still have around a month before season starts. Problem is I'm in the last stages of a new home build and I have a lot of work to do myself (trying to save some money). And also hopefully move in sometime during the season. Our season goes all the way to February 10th. So its all up in the air on how much I hunt. I have scouted this spring and summer more than ever so hopefully it pays off.

Checking in. Going through the impatient phase waiting for the 9/30 opener... Hung a pre-set location on Saturday for a early doe, hopefully, but some decent buck pics there as well.

Lets go T10!

I’m located north of Houston tx. From Louisiana originally. Lived in Tampa for several years, Birmingham for a bit, back to La, and now Houston.

Hunt all over the southeast and Midwest. Well I did…I’m a proud papa to a 6 month old daughter!

I nixed my September in Colorado for the first time in several years, that was a tough pill to swallow. And I know my hunting trips and time will be more limited this year.

Having said that, I’m 20 minutes from national forest, and got on deer pretty quickly last season(first exposure to this land). Had a 130’s 10pt at 10 yards, and couldn’t close the deal. I should draw a doe permit here, and hopefully can get it done at home.

I drew a rifle hunt at the WMA I’ve been hunting in Arkansas the last 3 seasons. Each year I’ve killed a doe, and the last two seasons have killed my 2nd/3rd best bow bucks. I’ve seen at least 5 deer that would be the biggest I’ve killed in rifle range, but was bow hunting. Hoping I get 2 does/buck on that hunt - barring some unique circumstance I have really good odd I believe.

And then I’ll hunt my stomping grounds in Louisiana at least a weekend or two at end of December/January. Late rut there so I always come to the contest party late!

Highly doubt I’ll make a trip further north than Arkansas this season, but it’s not entirely out of the question…

All this said, I hunted more than 99.9% of folks the last several years. This year I’ll be hunting something like 5-10 days out of state, and probably 5-10 hunts close to home. I’ll be firmly in the “man it’s nice to wake up and have coffee on the couch with my kid” camp most days. But I will do my best to be efficient in those high leverage hunts so I don’t drag the team down.

Let’s keep the camp fire burning!

Should we make some T shirts? I’d spring for one in either bottomland camo, or any earth tone with our team logo on the breast or back.

Could be a fun add on!

Brown/olive tshirt with whatever cool T10 logo someone can come up with?

I’ll commit to tracking down online supplier for shirts and upload artwork once it’s done if y’all want. I’ll get price per.

This would be voluntary of course. No one expected to buy one.

Weather predictions calling for westerly winds and that blows... The way the wma lays out westerly winds arent the best hahahaha.... All the spots I had in mind are kinda outta play except 1 and even that spot isn't ideal but if other hunters start making the deer move around it's a decent ambush on a travel corridor that had 3 distinct heavily used trails. I'd be having my wind blow down 1 side of the swamp bottom cutting my travel corridor in half but anything to the north of me would be upwind. I speculated it was more than likely mostly hog traffic when I was there and picking a tree. I have to stay in the same general vicinity as the quota holder so I'm basing my areas to look on where he gonna be. The wma has another section to it on the other side of a highway and that side would be setting up much better for a west wind so we'll have to brainstorm a little and decide if we want to jump the road. I don't think I am supposed to be on the other side if the quota holder isnt on that side. He says he has not seen much deer sign on that side in the past and I haven't ever been in there but I've been looking at the aerial photos. This place is pretty small acreage wise and the brochure says u can drive the roads. A car door accidentally slammed on a calm morning in the center of the place is probably gonna alert every critter in that place.
