Tethrd Spliced Ropes - First Look

Great video Greg, as always tons of awesome info.

We won't be able to do this anytime soon. The ropes would be pretty dang expensive.

Sent from my Galaxy S8.

I was planning on buying all spliced ropes this year regardless. If you were to pay Wesspur to do spliced eyes with Predator on both ends for both the linemans and tether, it will run you about $65 per rope plus shipping.

Before long we're gonna have to take online arts and crafts classes in order to maintain our saddle hunter status.

I’m in where and when.
Well after closer examination of content I see it says online and that puts me out. Sorry @huck72412 thought you were the instructor.
I’m still trying to find the Super Secret Spot.

Lmao, but we have to come up with masculine name alternatives like we did for the “Thread Injector”

Although, I do believe Tethrd and the Kestrel put a hurting on sewing machine sales.

I agree with safety but you can always tie the figure 8 in on the end to maintain safety. While it would be a nice option to have it spliced on both ends, a lot of people buying their first saddle are not going to want to pay $65 for a tether.
True.. I will and have done this in the past. Just trying to get away from knots.

Will the tether be long enough to tie a figure eight on a bite?

Besides, I’ve been thinking that the thing to do is not necessarily tie the “end” of the tether to your biner as backup but rather tie a knot higher up to minimize the distance of a fall. This could be the end of the tether if someone is using a relatively short tether but not necessarily.

Yes. It's 8 feet long. It takes about 18 inches of rope for a figure 8. So you will be left with a tether about 6.5 feet. It will fit the bill for most trees. You may have to use a stopper knot if your hunting a mega sized tree but those are more of an exception than a rule
