Tethrd Spliced Ropes - First Look

I am also planning on upgrading to spliced ropes this year, but I'm gonna do this myself, I like a challenge. Did g2 invent the 2" splice? LMAO

Do you leave your ropemans on your ropes or remove between hunts?

Everyone says splicing it is brutal. I've never tried.

Depends on the individual rope. I've spliced some that were fairly easy and some that were incredibly difficult. Yale bandit was actually a pretty easy splice. Samson Predator on the other hand was pretty difficult. Seems to depend on how tight the outer cover braid is. There are some very helpful videos out there on splicing double braid rope.

Hey G2, I had asked a question about girth hitching the Tethrd Lineman Belt in the thread......
What do you want to know about the Tethrd Mantis?
& was told that the splice was too small. So, I ordered 2 tree tethers. Can I get that changed to 1 Lineman, 1 Tree Tether? Order # 4130. Thank you. Looking forward to using TETHRD!

I had the same question and was going to ask again but figured I’d get the same answer. When that question was answered I think they meant to say that you wouldn’t be able to pass a carabiner through the eye if you wanted a quick hook on and take off. I don’t think they realized, like g2, we wanted to leave the girth hitch “permanently” attached. I ended up buying a lineman’s belt and tether, realizing that if you can pass the end of the rope through the eye it will work.
Thanks @g2outdoors for the video and clearing up the girth hitch questions.

Saddle Nation - in this video I go over the benefits of spliced ropes as well as how I use them on my Mantis Saddle.

I think a lot of you will like the 2" spliced eye we came up with for the lineman belt. It's going to help you be a more lightweight and efficient saddle hunter.

I think I was the second viewer. This cleared up every question I had! Thanks G2! Got my caribiners already sent to me (that are specific to the ropeman like urs) and ropeman 1’s ordered thru u!

Hi G2,
Any chance you can produce a tether with a second smaller loop on the tag end. I like to attach that end to my saddle as a back up.

It is a good idea in case you move the ropeman too far...

I made this recommendation to Greg and Ernie a couple months ago. It will add some cost if it happens.

I will add you will struggle to find a professionally spliced rope at this price point. Its a bargain. Hand splices are expensive.

I’m all in. I would gladly pay for the double spliced ends.
