Yeah man I bought into the hype and picked up a Marsupial Gear harness, and for every reason you listed, ditched it. Additionally, found the magnetic closure had a pretty big effect on nav gear if it was within 6 feet.
6 feet? That seems like a lot.
I just got the new FHF FOB harness and the magnets have no effect on a compass as long as I’m about 1/2 an arm’s length (elbows tucked into my stomach) from the pouch. I tried it with a Suunto MC-2 and a standard USGI lensatic compass. I had to have them pretty tight to the magnet before there were issues.
Curious if you really find it worth the extra trouble just to have the magnetic closure?6 feet? That seems like a lot.

I just don't see a problem with it in any practical way for myself. I get what the complaints are but they have never been an issue and the magnetic closer just flat works better than any other option.Curious if you really find it worth the extra trouble just to have the magnetic closure?
I was just going to say this. I have this one, which includes a rangefinder pouch and cover. However, I have started only using it for turkey season here in MI. I like that it opens away from your body and has magnetic closures. It has a zipper pouch on the back of it, and plenty of spots to add other things. I hook a turkey pot call pouch to the other side, and the inside has enough room for my bino's plus some extras like a shock call or something. Sometimes I even throw my phone in there.Horn Hunter OP-X is working good for me. It has a magnetic closure which I like...They come in two sizes - I use the standard...
I’m on the fence on it.The Kifaru harness drops tonight.
I’m looking to get away from magnets and looks like the FHF has them.I went ahead and ordered a fhf bob and have had it about a week. Been shooting in the yard and walking around with it some and it's amazing. I don't see anything about the kifaru that looks like it would make it comparable.
I got a Pro M this year and it has worked flawless. I'm a big fan.FHF Pro M here. Hunted this past week with it. Only thing I wish it had was a spandex pouch on the front for my phone. It also has the rangefinder pouch mounted to the side. Size, weight, and functionality, all there. Didn't interfere with the wearing of my X2 pack.
