Arrow tuning on trad arrows is about the rabbit hole equivalent of saddle hunting
You’re 100 percent right. It goes with never being satisfied I guess.

I've settled (for now) on a 720 grain arrow with 370 grains up front. Guessing 25%+ foc. 55 lb longbow is quiet as a mouse and hammers the target with this setup. It definitely has a fun"fiddle factor" when it comes to this part. Will never be satisfied shooting trad, of that I am certain. You’re 100 percent right. It goes with never being satisfied I guess.
Depends if you are looking to go ilf setup or not. You can get some bolt on if adapters, or if not concerned might be able to just bolt on some samick sage limbs and call it good. Get on the leatherwall.bowsite.com and read up on what guys have been doing for years....tons of good info.Have you guys ever done a warf? I have an old game getter II that I have been saving specifically to make a take down bow.
Can anyone suggest a person to machine the pockets for me?

I'll probably go lighter in the future as well. After 20 yds the arrow drops like a sack of potatoes. Wouldn't mind a flatter trajectory, that's for sure.
I'm on the edge of going trad and this thread is helping fuel the fire, I had my mind made up that the next compound I buy will be a fingers bow but I think I'll skip that transition and go straight trad..... Gonna have to do some research on what size of bow I need...take down vs recurve... Etc.

This year is booked, but I may have to take you up on that next year!Ernie if you want to hunt the rut in Aug. in 95* weather. You can come stay at the house and I’ll haul you to the Everglades.

I got the bow with 30 and 40 pound limbs for $202.99 at my local Hong Kong Louie. Ebay. Going in cheap till I decide I like it.
They make 50 and 60 pound limbs also $70 a set.

I got the same bow for messing around. 45# limbs are kicking my ass! Looking forward to seeing how this goes for you.
I thought I was starting light. I misunderstood what my coach said when I asked him if 45 was too much. Should have gone with 35. Though it’s not impossible that I will get the 45 to work.
