I spent today screWing in tree steps. I started out with seventy steps and I think I have four or five left.
Sure, I use my spurs a lot. And sometimes I use rope steps, climbing sticks, rope climbing, etc.
But if you have the steps and know which trees you're likely to hang in come fall, there's nothing easier or quieter than screw in steps that are already there.
For the last few years I've been setting up as many trees as I could every winter/spring so that I have all kinds of choices come deer seaSon.
I probably have twenty five or more trees in good locaTions set up with screw in steps now. That's on my property and a couple neighbors properties. Maybe forty five acres or so.
Of course they won't help if I go somewhere else to hunt, but I like options. Options are good.
Plus, it's a pretty good workout climbing and screWing in that many steps . Every little bit helps. Especially a fat boy like me
